Beautiful video! Thank you so much for the precious info. I did the race in the last few days and ended up dnf despite having watched your detailed video several times. My race was going well, everything was going as planned. At 7:30 pm I was in Jochberg despite a strong storm caught on the ridge. I was fine but I needed to rest. I was counting on finding the planned rest area at the refreshment point but it had not been set up. I wanted to sleep for an hour and then face the climb and the second night rested and energetic. Everything around was wet and I could not lie down on the ground so I went back on the trail hoping to find something to rest at the next refreshment point. I retreated to Jochberger Wildalm because I was sleepy and there was nothing to rest in sheltered from the wind and cold. The very kind lady at the refreshment point had given me her camp bed, I tried to lie down but being outside I was getting shivers. I called the organizer to inform me of the withdrawal and they told me that they could not come up to pick me up and so I walked down the road to Jochberg to take the shuttle. I am saddened by what happened, I would certainly have finished the race if I could have rested. I did not feel like spending a second night without sleep. Having seen in your video the difficulties of the route with the bad weather that was there I considered that safety comes first. I contested the organization for the lack of a rest area, foreseen in the regulation. However, I have the wonderful experience I had during this race up until the withdrawal, I really enjoyed the route. See you soon and congratulations again.

It is a tough race. The two times I did it, only 10 people finished.

The climb is steep, but not specifically difficult. The traverse to is is comparably easy. Not the part of the race to worry about. There are others.

Thanks for sharing! Great to see the course in good weather conditions. This year was pretty tricky with non stop rain and challenging mud slides

yes, mud and constant rain was very unpleasant, but so was the extreme heat the two years before. So far a lot of weather extremes.

Can't thank you enough for this. The race made a fool of me in 2022, privilaged to be getting another shot at it. The adjusted pace graph is validation of my estimated splits, which ebb and flow vs the cutoff and I just didn't know why. Also, those last 3 hills, going through the second night - wow thanks for making me aware just how tough they are. Will now be at least mentally if not physically prepared for those.

Thanks for the great video. Which is more difficult, UTMB or KAT100M?
@RunningRaceReview
@RunningRaceReview 9 ай бұрын
I found KAT slightly more difficult, but UTMB is higher in absolute altitude and the second half is technical. The hardest is Nice 100 miles though.

@@hybris2 Yes it does. The snowfields were not that long, that I took the time for mounting/dismounting, but if you take that time it will definitely make you faster in that section.
