Yall talk bs on UNM but Albuquerque is bigger than Logan, Colorado Springs and Reno. UNM wins national championships in other sports look it up. The only down side is the football team, but you're lieing if you say the 1 million people in Albuquerques metro isn't impressive for a media deal. And that's the name of the game now a days.

1: media companies want to pay the least. Check. But multiple entities are bidding, so that is a bidding war. 2: the PAC has Octagon negotiating the valuation, and they have thrown variables of UNLV, Nevada, Sac State, UTSA, Tulane, Memphis, USF, and even California and Stanford in the deal to see how it gooses values . 3: the MWC on the other hand is complete toast in the next media deal. Unlikely that they get more than $3m per school. 4: The narrative that the PAC is in worse shape than the MWC is utter nonsense. The MWC is being held together with bubble gum and baling wire. The “memorandum of understanding” isn’t a contract. It’s not legally binding…and any school can bolt at any time up until the deal as signed…and after.
