One really needs to hear this live - no reproduction, let alone that of a tinny iPad, can do it justice. I heard this ensemble in Cambridge in an acoustically generous, beautiful space and it was overwhelmingly beautiful.

Wow. I've heard Owen McIntosh a good bit, and I'm not sure I've ever heard him better than here. Good diction, excellent dynamic range (and taste in deploying it), and the seamless way he slips in and out of falsetto is a wonder.

How did Antoine Busnois know about Pythagoras even though he couldn’t look him up or research him because the Internet didn’t exist until 477 years after he died?
@pkhollenga Жыл бұрын
During the Middle Ages, Pythagoras was revered as the founder of mathematics and music, two of the Seven Liberal Arts. He appears in numerous medieval depictions, in illuminated manuscripts and in the relief sculptures on the portal of the Cathedral of Chartres.

Why did Antoine Busnois make a song in Latin even though he was French?
@IPMusic Жыл бұрын
@@damiensisco6960 Latin was the international language of sacred Christian music, regardless of the composer's everyday national or regional language.

From the elegant, pointy architecture, to the Gothic elegance of the paintings of van DER Weyden, to the elegance of a rondel dagger with a needle's point, I absolutely adore the music, art, weapons and armor from this period! Thank you for your hard work.
