Wow - between the great weather, recovery from pneumonia, and return to the Chesapeake, this video feels happy like a great weight was lifted from both of your shoulders as you finally completed your goals! Now maybe you'll have time to figure out why you were leaking antifreeze the past few months.

Thank you guys for being so honest and open (all along your journey, but) especially in sharing the very scary health crisis you experienced in Virginia. How Blessed you are to have made it that far before needing medical intervention. I personally believe you had a crew of Guardian Angels working with you all along. What an Amazing Adventure 🙌 Kudos to both of you for your courage, skillful navigating, determination and perseverance! The stage is all set now for you to soon retrieve - "RETRIEVER" and bring her back to her home marina - officially "Crossing Your Wake" Only 150 miles (out of 6000) to go 👏 Thanks for being so Inspirational ! And also Thanks for being so kind, thoughtful and loving (and creative!) as to give us all...about fifty beautiful and informative videos, in order for us landlubbers to vicariously be a part of your Great American Loop Adventure! Experience of a Lifetime ! So glad you are recovering so well. 😊❤🛥 Congratulations 💪

Kudos to you guys, not only for facing and solving what sounds like a barrage of very challenging events...but also for the calm and measured way you talk about them in this video. Its pretty easy to see you guys are understating the amount of stress, aggravation, disappointment and fear of possible 'mission failure' (Which we know isn't possible for Retriever:) you guys experienced in recent weeks. Including contending with the weather. Yeah...I'd say you do have some very adept Guardian Angels cruising right along with you! So great that you are finally headed North ! Congratulations...for making it this far! You make a brilliant team! Chesapeake Bay - Full sream ahead!!! 😊

Just wondering about the comment about LaBelle docks. Did you stay at the city docks or across the river at the park? We have stayed there several times at the City docks and found them pretty easy to use. As far as our main engine heating your pressured water system (shower) you should have Valves on those hose that leave the engine and are routed to the water heater. You should be able to shut them off and use the electric water heater only and then open them up again once you get in the great white north.

"Paid their dues"? What is that supposed to mean? Sounds to me like you left them dead in the water "captain" so you could get to bay springs and edit a video insulting them and their boat while trying to paint yourself a good guy. You covered your words pretty well but the condescension was loud and clear. Then, you go and make a "follow up video" doing the same and said "there were hard feelings all around"... well no sh*t sherlock! I'd be mad if someone left me stranded in the middle of nowhere then posted a video making fun of me. Maybe stick to your own story instead of trying to grow your channel on the tribulations of others.
@LoopingonRetriever-hn4nf5 ай бұрын
Thank you for your insightful comments. I do appreciate them. Unfortunately I do not agree with most of what you say because I was there and in fact, you were not. There was a lot that was going on behind the scenes. My part was just to allow him to follow me and teach him how to get through, the first lock, which we did. The marina person made it crystal clear that should he have any issues, he should call them and not us because we weren't really in a position to help. I couldn't even tow them because my boat draws 4 1/2 feet and I think that theirs was about a foot. Once you get off that channel a few feet you're a ground we know because it happened to us last year. Your implication that I am trying to create stories to grow my channel is ridiculous and again you don't know me from Adam. I committed to my family when we started this to video everything I could good, bad and the ugly and we've tried to do that. We really liked the couple, and in fact, got a call from them last night saying if we could get to their area they would like to meet us for dinner. The hard feelings that I maybe shouldn't have mentioned had to do with price of the tow expectations from the marina, etc. Had nothing to do with us. And lastly, what I must object to is your implication that we were trying to make fun of anyone. We've made great friends the whole way through this process from Canada, and love the people we've met so far in the south. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts, we are trying to do the best job we can as we document our loop.

I never said you were making it up. You obviously didnt read my comment properly. I said you were making videos about another person misfortune. Rewatch this video and listen to yourself criticizing those people's boat and them (how they spoke). You come across as condescending and arrogant. Your video basically said "nothing I could do to help the poor stupid people who don't know what they're doing and have a crappy boat I wouldn't have even put in the water". If that's not condescending, then I don't know what is. It's disgusting of you to post a video about someone breaking down in the water then posting another one titling it "the saga continues" while trying to come off like you like them. Not a "friendly" thing of you to do! Smdh.

Great comments, we really appreciate it. I think our problem at Michigan was they had just cleared the channel for the large ferry and didn’t even have time to get their lines back in the water and just were totally ignoring us. Anyway, it was all part of the fun and just another story. We actually got started by watching videos also, one of the reasons I try to do the best I can with them.

Great job folks. Been watching your vids for a couple weeks now and it's getting me more and more excited to start this adventure. Unfortunately i've got some years of work ahead of me and a couple kids to get out of here before hand. Just watched your michigan video and if your in a channel with salmon good luck getting fishermen to move, you've got to move them yourself....... i'm one of those fishermen but i know lbs. dictate who moves and who doesn't. Keep up the good work.
