Hi Kris, great video! I bought this one and the music mode/sound mode always black out so it's useless as standalone and I don't care for the cheesy cartoon animations and the few patterns. Shehds won't take it back for this reason and I wonder how to get more out of it without buying into the chauvet system. The adapters are more $$$ than the laser itself. I've tried the shehds dmx controller with it but there is not much more control available using the sliders. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hey, thanks for watching. Depends how you are using it. If using DMX there are a few different channel possibilities. The lower channel options have a master Dimmer - CH1 If you go into the 50+ channel operation they are all separate. I believe I was using Chauvet Showexpress when doing this video which gives me more options. How are you using it? Did you refer to the manual?

@KrisSzanto I don't have any sort of DMX capabilities, I am just using the menu on the back of the unit. I looked in the manual for dimming but didn't see anything on it. The only thing I can come up with is turning down all the color values. I am learning about DMX and how to do it.

They are very similar in brightness. The biggest difference is the weight. This one is much lighter, but the 10r has more options. Depends what your looking for. 🤷♂️

What app are you using to control this unit? I'm using mydmxgo, is it able to make all this happen as well? Seems to work well with some fixtures and terribly with others

Happy it helped. Just an FYI- there is a newer version of tetra control coming out. Should be by end of July I think. Will allow you to use a couple of Venues moving lights. Stay tuned for more info.

What is wrong if you have 10 lights but onlt 7 resoond to the board. I noticed 7 have a blinking dot between the D and 0. But the other 3 are set to d001 but no blinking dot

Any idea on how many amps these use? Looks like you have 2 units on one circuit. I wish POWER CONSUMPTION was listed in the specs for these fog machines.

@joshrodrigues5310 You can not control speed when it is in an auto or sound mode. But, that is pretty normal for most lights unless there is a slow auto program. (Not adjustable)

You mention the light doesn't have individual led capability, but what does the effect channel do? It's listed as wash effects with ”dream” and ”rainbow” in the options, can you update another video checking that out and showing it?

These are simply auto programs that either fade through many color possibilities, jump or snap... the individual lights will not be different colors. In my experience you will only see that type of effect with lights that offer higher channel options. If this was the case there would probably be an additional 35 channels.

I just purchased the tetra control and I have venue revolver laser and for some reason the lights don’t turn on but the laser works and all the movement works Does anyone have any tips

The Tetra controller is not intended to work with moving lights. However.... there is a new version coming out that will work with the revolver. (TETRA 2) I am sorry I am not sure exactly when it will roll out, but the final testing is happening very soon. I hope you were not mis informed by anyone.

Due to the space for my setup i placed the subs against the wall like this. I wanted my 2 subs together in front of me as this setup created a valley on the dance floor of little bass. I do not recommend separating subs like this as the bass is soooo much better when centered and coupled.

I was safe at keeping them from shooting into the sky. Kept it pointed slightly down from a 10-20 ft height. I am pretty responsible like that. Also, have a flight app to know when aircraft are nearby and shut it down if that was the case. Was only done for demo - havent used it outside since. (Had to poumce on that hazy opportunity lol)

If you want to use your laptop as a dmx controller look for dmx software. Like chauvet showexpress or similar. There are less expensive options out there. amzn.to/3pBuqOP

Can any one comment on the ILDA mode... this is my first laser mainly for home use and parties... if I understand correctly an ILDA port will let the user make some custom elements and allow for more flexible use... I saw the ILDA mode listed in the menus, but I don't understand how how or where one would connect an ILDA cable... am I missing something?

I’m having trouble getting some of my Amazon ordered LED parts lights to work with this system. They are very erratic & do not light up correctly. Do you have specific brands other than Venue tetra lights you can list? I do have them on the correct dmx channels. Any help would be appreciated.

The lights are most likely not compatible. The channels you are using probably have the dimmer or strobe channels.

I am away from my home... but I believe it Soun or simlar in the menu. Just menu and arrow down to that. Press enter. There are a number of sound active options.

The unit has a 2.4ghz wireless receiver. So any wireless dmx transmitter should be fine. Not sure what you mean by colors to match, not numbers. 🤷♂️

How long will each bag of powder last? If you dont use all the powder in the unit, can you leave it in the unit for the next event or do you need to empty it and loose all the not used powder?

Thanks for watching. I am not sure how long the bag will last or how many full bursts you might get. You do want to poor out extra and burn off anything that remains in the chamber with the corresponding remote button. I think most people get a gig or two out of a packet with 2 machines. Mostly used for introduction or first dance and then a couple times throughout the nightnor until powder is gone.

If each spark session only lasts for about 30 seconds, how long does it take before you get spark again? If you wanted to use them for 1st dance and the client wanted the sparks for the whole song.

It doesnt take very long to be ready to go again, but I would tell the client no. Lol. Nobody does sparks for that long. They lose their dramatic effect after a short bit and if you even could have them going that long, you would distract from the couple and have a big mess. Imagine a fireworks show where they were completely the same from beginning to end. That would mean no grand finale. My 2 cents.

How would you change the transmitted dmx channels? If i dont want dmx channel 1-126 transmitted but 386-512 for example. Is that possible?

The transmitter has the capability of sending a full universe. Channels 001-512. Your only limited if your controller doesnt have that many channels. I use software which takes advantage of the full universe.

Seen few videos about this controller. Yours is definitely the best I have seen yet.. you should do an extended version going into more detail I think that would be a great hit.. the genetic version of this is all over eBay and is probably the most popular controller as well so as far as that goes your video should be really popular.. just start off the same way you did in this video keeping it simple and then add add more info . On most other channels this controller as they are most popular video..

Question, Hey quick question. We have mydmx on an old laptop at church that we just have 3 scenes on. Only have a 4 cob cannons or something up there. I want to just use a regular controller instead of the laptop, BUT, the lights are up too high to address without bringing in scaffolding and they are addressed in my dmx at 10, 20, 30, etc. So the question is, is there a cheap controller out there I can use with the lights addressed like that?? I know normally it has to be like 1,17, etc.

How many channels are u using for each one? If you do a little math, you could use any cheap controller. Might be a bit confusing... but all u have to do is use the coresponding channels on the controller and fixture/scanner. For instance on a controller like this you would select scanner 1 and use channel 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 ,15 - The one starting on 20 - you would user scanner 2 - faders 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 then last one addressed 30 you would use scanner 2 for the first couple channels 14, 15, 16 would be 30,31,32 then you would have to go to scanner 3 and use fader 1,2 and 3 (if they are 6ch) Does this make sense?
