Shit bags all of them. All for a meager wage. Couldn't make it as police, military, or anything that takes balls. Hired with just the bare minimum requirements. It must've taken the film crew a long time to find a group that wasn't full of sloppy fat obese people.

I’ve been on the inside. This place was certainly no joke and nothing like modern prison pods. The Maximum security wing is very dark and claustrophobic. It is 5 tiers high and several men jumped to their deaths to end their life sentences in the castle. An overwhelming smell of urine is forever in the air, the cold thick concrete walls and beds, Cells are 5’ x 8’ with prison gray steel bars and ancient locking mechanism. Paintings and writings left behind by inmates who spent their entire lives in those cells are on the walls of every cell. A dark, hellish atmosphere inhabits maximum security. The death house or death row is a small, one story unit at the back of the prison yard with a long line of cells and an adjoining room where “sparkie” the electric chair sits cold and silent now. Maximum security wing would be considered inhumane by today’s standards but in the past it was the norm. No frills, no televisions, dark, damp, and depressing.

TDOC Probation officers not empowered to arrest an offender who violates? In New York they can

So the probation officer says at the beginning about being honest and not wanting the people he supervises to be confused etc. But instead of just arresting him, and being honest when he gets there, he plays a game? He wants to help people on probation but he's glad to help law enforcement? Fuck this guy, for real

It's remarkably similar to the former Ohio State Penitentiary (Shawshank Redemption). That one is open for tours and there are places that they say are very haunted. I got a strange feeling walking through "the hole." Was worth a visit I wish they would do that here as well.

I have never seen prisons right from the 18th century even standing to date ...most of them get demolished or destroyed due to mother nature. Though it looks beautiful on the outside it carries many stories of torture and pain. They should restore this prison because not many prisons have a castle like exterior.

I passed through here in 1988, as an inmate, in transit from Morgan County Regional Correctional Facility to Lake County Regional Correctional Facility. Stayed 3 or 4 days on "10 walk" (on the left wing if you're facing the castle). Was scared as hell, tbh. I was 21. I was also at Cold Creek Correctional Center (the old Fort Pillow Prison) when they were shooting scenes for The State Vs Larry Flint. We were on lockdown for about a week while the Hollywood people were shooting. We were hot and miserable, locked in our cells, while Woody, Courtney and company were having a good time out in the parking lot with their studio busses and amenities. It's really weird seeing "the walls" all grown over and destroyed... but good riddance. A whole lot of people lost their lives in that hell-hole. Not that some didn't deserve it.

The Exterior of the Building is Beautiful, You don't see Architect Structures like this building anymore, that alone is Worth Saving this Building. It's a shame to let this building Just go to Waste. They could restore the Building by Tickets they could sell to visit. I disagree with many of these Decision these Crown Republicans are doing In Tennessee. It appears they are taking Licisens from the Clown Governor Desantis in Florida. that wants to destroy the America. Republicans wants to be Dictator over America like the Fool Trump and Republicans. These Republicans are Not You Friend.

I was on probation for seven years and they did nothing but help me
I spent two years of my life behind the walls there for possession of two ounces of weed. While I was there, I lost my job, wife, and just about everything else. For a baggie of Mexican weed. The year was 1972. Many good people were in there who lost ever as much as me, many lost much more. It was one of the most cruel, sadistic environments I was ever to witness, and I have been in two wars. I saw 9 people die in there, some of whom did nothing more than enjoy getting a buzz from some bud in their previous life. It just goes to show how indifferent the establishment was back then in Tennessee. Now weed is legal. What a waste of life and taxpayer's money. I would like to see that place razed to a pile of rubble. I would gladly make a trip there to urinate on it. Greetings from Alaska, where I live far, far away from it all.
