@acvaristicacudichisКүн бұрын
4:25 No, they don't die in 5-10 minute without air. They can live for many hours. Also, they survive for an hour or so in a wet cloth (I forgot to give it to the fry and that is the way I found out).

Can i do this in my gravel substright or will it just all come up into the water column
@greenmachinesweden9 күн бұрын
The guaranteed analysis sais 20,5% Urea. That is not a small amount of ammonia. I would say, use with care and understanding. Not something that can be used in every tank.

So you say now just to dump the babies in the marine salt water after taking momma out..., but also, my shrimp is taking forever to hatch out her babies tonight! You said to also not let them stay in the freshwater for more than a couple hours ..well that time is up now now. She kicked off some eggs instead of helping them hatch at first. She started around 5pm but shes had a ton of swimmers a couple hours later, which is great, she got the hang of it...but its almost midnight and she still has a ton of eggs left to hatch out. How do I transfer the babies over without having a pipette but still let her finish and also give the small pile of eggs time to hatch? Im kind of stuck. I feel like i should just let her finish ..which probably wont be until 6am at this point..then, take her out and just hope the hatched shrimp do ok despite being in the freshwater for longer than a couple hours and then dump them in because i dont think shes going to be done until the morning now...,and then leave the eggs at the bottom of the container, add more fresh tank water and bubble tumble them to see if they hatch too?
@AvatarAquatics9 күн бұрын
@@sashacoates7049 If you have an egg tumbler then sure leave the unhatched eggs in there and see how they do. Historically the hatch rates for these dropped eggs haven’t been the best for me despite adequate aeration and antifungal meds. The priority is the healthy larvae that is already hatched out. It’s tempting to start with as much as you can, but make no mistake: those that hatched out by the mom should get priority. To coax them away from the mom, you can use a flashlight and then dump them into the saltwater when they’ve aggregated. You can also essentially to a “99% water Change” and just drain the water into the grow out tank. Then refill the mom’s release tank with her normal freshwater tank water.

What do you do to the eggs that were dropped due to stress? Did she actually hatch out the rest?

Hi nice to meet you bro! It’s a good presentation about how to breed the Amano shrimp. I am breeding the red front shrimp now, it’s just a beginning stage and I am using tetraselmis to feed them, lighting on 10 hours and no filter in the tank. Could you give me advice what’s water change frequency for my application?
@Cephalotus111 күн бұрын
Hi, I'm doing everything you Sir have explained. My Amano shrimp larvae are doing perfectly well in salty green water 1,0245sg. There are a lot of them. I used a fine diffuser that aerates the water perfectly as well as stirs it. I can't wait for the next phases. Thank you so much for your guide on how to do it. It's truly a treasure trove of knowledge.

So without trying mine bread in a Fluval Roma 90 aquarium and at least a dozen fry survived to maturity (Again no effort to conserve them). That was with about 20 adults sharing the tank with two Electric Blue Rams. The only things I really did was 25% water changes from an RO unit per week and occasional live food for a treat. I had plastic plants and neon blue / green gravel in that tank. They liked to hide in this fake plastic green moss ball. Not trying to take anything away from what you did at all but at the same time my experience suggests to me that not everything you did was strictly necessary. 🤷

If you review your video, there is a structure at the top of the head. That is developed to help the baby break the outer shell.

I have 2 amanos in my 30gal. After each water change I add a tablespoon of salt to increase the pH cuz I keep mollies. Ans once I was cleaning the substrate and sometimes the sifon hose sucks a molly fry and I always check the bucket which I fill the dirty water. Last time I cheked and I saw a small shrimp in the bucket. Idk how the shrimps bred?

Hi dude, I am looking into trying to breed them in a 120 gall tote(122x122x30cm), my plan rn is to keep 16 to 20 of them in a 10 gall tank keeping and eye on them and fattening them up, when ready putting them in the tote that will have the substrate made off leaf litter/peatmoss ensuring the eggs to be hidden and to have a infusoria culture thriving in the tote (plus adding more from other cultures). Where I am going with this is from your exprecience do you have any advice or ideas I should have in mind? I know it is totally different but any advice is welcome. (There are more details but I think it could be too much for a YT comment)

G'day from Australia Ryan. Love the videos mate. Thanks for all your efforts. Is the PowerPoint presentation available at all? Or will you be posting it up on KZbin? We have 4 or 5 females, that are constantly getting berried and just can't get the larvae through to shrimp stage.

My cardinals are spawning in the community tank - as you said, starts at dawn until about midnight. I run my tank 1/2 tap, 1/2 RO because my water is very hard. They first started spawning a day after I fed them Grindle worms the first time. Unfortunately all my tanks are full, but it’s on the list to make a spawning tank for them.
