Lol, yes he’ll be energetic for a while longer! But it shows he’a healthy and thriving. I do suggest playing with him at least once a day. Buy him some balls he can roll around and chase. Mine like felted wool balls a lot!! Also balls that jingle and crinkly ones too. Buy a couple of different wand toys and make him chase them and jump to grab it. I do this with mine in the evening so they can get some energy out and get a bit tired. Also, a snuffle mat is good because you can hide treats and some dry food in them and the cat has to work to find them in the snuggle mat so it’s like foraging and this is helpful to keep them busy and entertained. I suggest a good, sturdy cat tree, the taller the better! They like to be high up and look out unto their territory, lol. With jumping up on the cat tree and using the scratching posts this also helps them exert energy and provide them with activity that is natural to them. I have three big wood cat trees for my four cats and they’re some of the best purchases I’ve made for them. They use all the trees throughout the day. You can even put a bird feeder on the window to provide him with more entertainment. Lastly, at least one good scratching post is essential. Don’t get a small one. They need to be able to fully threat how out their body when they scratch it so make sure it’s tall enough and as he grows you will need to get a taller one that allows him a full body stretch to scratch on. This satisfies their scratching needs and helps jeep their nails healthy as well. I have several cat scratchers throughout my apartment and my cats love them. Oh! One more thing, some cats love to have different little beds and tents to cuddle and hide in. I have literally gotten all my cat’s things secondhand from on FB Marketplace in like new condition but greatly discounted because the cats they were bought for didn’t use them. This is how I’m able to afford having stuff for my four cats who I love so much!! Did you mention you had another cat coming? This would be great because I’m honesty, I find two kittens easier than one. They keep each other company and entertained, and they also teach each other boundaries as not biting or scratching heads, etc. Hope this can help you figure out some ways to help him spend more energy and keep entertained to give you a little break 😂 Just know that he will in time calm down. I apologize for the typos 🤦🏻‍♀️ Most of the time is my iPhone “correcting” me 🙄 where it says, “threat out”, that was supposed to say stretch out. Where it says, “scratch heads”, that was supposed to say scratch hard 😑 and “jeep” was supposed to be keep. Anyhow, even if she’s older it will be good for Teddy to have another cat around.
