The heavy cast item that you got out looks like the mechanism for lifting up the sluice gate on a lock.

So happy Terri was able to find the owner of that phone and money. What a wonderful story she told about how she lost it. I love seeing the history of that area. Keep us up to date with the area. I love it.

In Hartford, Connecticut USA an insurance company was formed called The Hartford and it's insignia on all it's stationery is a Stag or Elk similar to the statue in Hartford,UK.

Awesome Job to everyone who was involved in the returning of the phone and contents to Sarah ..... I would like to know if she got the phone to work ..... I highly doubt it considering the water from the canal is like acid and eats just about anything it contacts . I bet she will never do that again , jump in the water or lose her phone. I would like to know what kind of fish some people are fishing for considering the size of "Jaws " that Nigel found ...... That lure is probably bigger than most of anything that may be alive in that water !!! Another awesome venture in Hartford ........ I would like to know where the hell the nearest train track is since i did not hear a train and all of the train things were being pulled up . Keep up the good work folks , i was gonna say guys but did not want to offend Terri in any shape or form . See we even look out for ya Terri no matter how tall ya are !

a selection of iron bars and bolts 'throughout history'. In Canada, it's hard to get 'historical' rocks in muddy rivers to stick to magnets, and harder to identify the original owners.
