I am a first-time videographer. What equipment do you use to video yourself? Do you use a phone, and replay it on the phone? Or do you use some sort of camera to create the video and replay it on a tablet or a laptop or PC? Thanks for sharing this tip!

Hi! I record all my videos on a camera then edit them on a computer.

Hi! Thank you so much for this! I’d also love a video where you explore dancing to all of this song -one of my absolute favourites! I’ve performed it too - but always room for improvement. Please go more in depth into the power of dynamics, stops, and pausing in your dance, to emphasise different musical phrases, or to show the breaks and ups and downs in the emotions of the dance and how to show these ... pleeeeez ❤

thank you for sharing such an informative and easy to follow video! I was wondering if the kind of veil one has is relevant to the technique? I can see that yours is quite light. My veil is a bit thicker with sequined borders which makes it heavier..
@zoedanza6 ай бұрын
Yes, the veil size, weight, shape, and fabric all affect how it moves! While this move can be done with any type of veil, it is a good idea to practice with different types of veil to get used to the minor adjustments in force you need to make. For example, with a light veil like this one, you need very little force, as too much will make it look like you're just throwing the veil around. You want to let the veil "breathe", which takes some practice

I am confused because alot of tutorials and even my own instructor has us do our shoulders for the shimmy? They have us do the shoulders first and then the chest happens? I really struggle with this

Very soulful sound. And the showing of dance movements that could be used to illustrate the music, is really useful. Speaking of instruments more recently added to Middle Eastern music, there’s a bass guitar line in the first piece as well! Love 💗 the accordion 🎹

Why you opening your mouth during dancing???🤭🤭🤭
@zoedanza8 ай бұрын
Interesting question! Breathing through the mouth is more effective particularly when dancing to fast rhythms like this one. It also helps relax the jaw and aids in expressiveness, which is so important for dancers!

One of the best instructions I've come across. Thank you, can't thank you enough, I always knew I loved this beat and when I'd come across a dancer, I always loved it, now I know it's an actual thing and how to drum it and dance it and I'm not even a belly dancer. THANKS!
