Thank you for these interesting videos. But sadly, mica is not so unproblematic either. It might be ok for users but it's most times an ecological desaster in the countries where it's from (mostly India) because of the mining, the dust is dangerous for the lungs and it is often mined with child labour.

We are committed to working with vendors to make sure components of the products we sell are ethically sourced and that vendors adhere to responsible practices. For artists, selecting trusted brands like Finetek and Jaquard from a reliable retailer instead of purchasing overseas-direct products of uncertain origin is a great way to ensure that the materials you use are produced through ethical supply chains. Feel free to reach out with concerns about any product we sell!

But this is oil or chalk?
@Blick_Art10 күн бұрын
These are soft pastels, a dry medium. These are sometimes generically called "chalk pastels", but we usually distinguish those as a harder drawing stick. These are soft, smooth, and buttery, even though they are a dry medium.

My favorite home made gift was a painting my 8 yr old grandson painted using tempura paint and his fingers…. It was suppose to go in my mom’s casket ( his great grandma) . It was accidentally forgotten at the time. I put it in one of my mom’s frames and it hangs on my wall. He is now 20 yrs old.💕

How do I seal my ceramic tiles using resin and do I need a heat gun?
@Blick_Art13 күн бұрын
Choose a resin product designed for pouring rather than casting, because casting resin is formulated to cure in a thicker mass. A heat gun can be used to chase off air bubbles, but that's an optional step that you can do if you are able to safely use that tool in your work space. A heat gun can also speed up curing, but easy does it, because too-rapid curing can induce cracking. Hope this helps!

Amazing video! But I have a question, recently I used Pebeo porcelain 150 and after respecting the indications but from some objects the paint layer has developed bubbles.May I know why?
@Blick_ArtАй бұрын
Typically with products like this, bubbles occur from residual moisture in the paint or object beneath, or from firing at too hot a temperature. Painted decoration should be allowed to dry completely before oven-setting. Hope this helps!

Sometimes if not mixed properly or if the frisket bakes into the paper it can be extremely hard to get off by hand. Using a dry, clean rag helps to remove the older/ stuck frisket without damaging your fingers/skin.
@Blick_ArtАй бұрын
Great tip, thanks! Stiffing well also mixes in the indexing dye so it doesn't stain the paper.

I love this! I will really use these tips. I'm not big on background things, like architecture, land, and other scenery, even though they can create a great feel for the subject--and that's not to say I don't include them--but they're not my favorite part to create. However, knowing how powerful they can be, I want to learn to be better at them, and ideally, see things I never noticed before that will make it more enjoyable to me. KZbin recommended this video to me, so its recommendations are sometimes great. Thank you! 😊
