For possible longshots, I would use the 5 and the 8, as I don't agree with the TimeForm pace projection, I think it is a bit faster than they expect, which sets up for a closer for a piece, and some class from THE Derby is one of them (8). Good luck. By the way, Dan and Mike are the best, but by no means is Ashley a huge downgrade. Not too hard on the eyes either! :)

Casse dominated the weekend so kudos 2 him. Shockingly, Appleby went 0-for w/ a scratched horse as well. I had Filo underneath in my exacta & I was surprised as u guys that Naval Power had a perfect trip & then flattened out in the stretch 😯 Big Rock closed well but dug himself 2 big a hole 2 make up l8 (not 2 mention a so-so ride).

Sometimes I wonder if extensive handicapping is really worth it. All I looked at for this race was TwinSpires’s in-app ratings for speed, class, and pace, and all indicated Full Count Felicia was the obvious play, particularly at the price. There was no other early pace and her class and speed ratings were just barely off Fev Rover and Moira. I don’t think any data would have predicted she’d be ahead 18+ lengths, but the early pace figures were clear she should be out front early. Hard to pass a big early pace advantage on turf.
