You can live in Asok for a reasonable price if you just do a little digging and patronise the businesses where the Thais go and tourists don’t. I’ve noticed a certain type of Thailand KZbinr , the ones who like to be seen as some sort of guru and superior in knowledge too other dumb foreigners who make exaggerated hate videos about Asok and lower Sukhumvit area in general and foreigners who live there. They of course neglect to mention that the majority of people in these areas are Thai and you can avoid rip offs by simply following the lead of the Thai locals.

Yes the majority of Bangkok are Thai. These are the people we love to meet. We are currently hanging out with a local Thai and sharing stories of Isan. You'll see in the next video we share laughs and drinks with the lovely Thai people 😊

Thanks! it was warm but more humid from the storm the night before. We love the heat and are used to it from living in Costa Rica for 7 years. Costa Rica is very similar to here with the landscape and weather

Asok is fine for a week or two, but it's a terrible idea living there. Think of how long you'd be stuck in traffic vs living in the burbs and taking BTS/MRT to downtown

That all depends on if you're driving or taking grab. We definitely feel there are better options for neighbourhoods in Bangkok other than Asok.

Hey Don, I thought of doing the map in the last neighbourhood but hadn't done it in the first 2 videos so wanted to keep it cohesive. I will in the next one and have a link to the area in these last 4. And yes it's more editing! The San Jose moto drivers would probably fair well but outside of that not so much.

The seeds in the red drink that you drank are not Chia seeds. They are one kind of Basil seeds. In Thailand we’ve been using it in number of different ways. It’s tasteless that’s why you don’t taste anything out of it

Must be basil seeds, which are like chia seeds when you soak them. Cool video, loved seeing the market! 👌if u need content Can u share a review of platinum fashion mall sometime? I might just bring my kids to there instead, i feel like chatuchak will be big/overwhelming + hot for the 5 of us 😅. Platinum might be simpler, easier to navigate + with a/c 👌

Ok thks! Will def visit MBK + centralworld as we are staying nearby. I’d assumed those were typical malls + had more high end shops while Platinum is supposed to be super budget with simple market stall vendors. But Maybe they all have a mix of high end + budget vendors? Will be fun to chk them out, malls are so easy with 3 kids…and so many in that one area👌

There are plenty of malls off of the bts. MBK is mostly budget shopping like the markets, the others are like normal malls.

Hi, Just found your channel. I'm going to Bangkok near the market you were at in Feb 2025. Would you say 5000 baht a day is a doable budget as hotel is booked so basically just for enjoyment. All in 100,000 baht for 2 weeks. Going solo so just me,myself. Mostly street food and the occasional beer lol. Any advice would be great. Also fantastic vlogs.

Thai food is cheap, beer is cheap, it's only when you go to western style restaurants it gets more expensive but compared to western countries it is still cheap. Also don't forget to get an Holafly eSIM from our link. Unlimited data for however many days you choose and you can set it up before you arrive.
