Beth with all you have had going on in your life you still managed to create a well thought out rating system! Not to mention all the other content you create for us to enjoy. I am so impressed! Thank you for sharing!!!

This is the most fun-looking reading journal I’ve ever seen! Love the theme & how that helps shape the content. I’m not usually one for super decorated pages, but it’s perfect in this context. Thanks for sharing it!

Beth, I gotta say, you're my kind of nerd. <3 I see Record of a Spaceborn Few on there, and I just want to say, it's written differently from The Long Way and a Closed & Common Orbit, and feels slower to get through. It took me a while to finish it, but it's well worth the journey to get to the end. I also recommend her Monk & Robot novellas, which are cozy and thought-provoking. I'm going to "unreliably commit" to your SciFi short story read-along. :)

Such a fun set up Beth. I can’t wait to start the read alongside, I may just do both as decision making isn’t my strong point right now. Of course the red shirt page has to be a favorite.

Oh noooo - now you've got me really conflicted: SciFi or Shakespeare 🤔 I know I won't be able to keep up with both... Probably I'll join the Shakespeare and just do one of the SciFi stories when there's time at hand... But really looking forward to the next year of reading and your journal setups😊

I saw "A Discovery of Witches" on your backlist. That's the first in a trilogy and, without spoilers, I want you to know that one of the three books is William Shakespeare adjacent. Just sayin'.
@TirnambeoDL7 сағат бұрын
There are actually 5 books in that series now ...
@kyre67222 сағат бұрын
@ true but the fourth and fifth to me are “in the same world”. Whereas the original three are one cohesive story. Did you like the new one? I did but not as much as the first ones. And I did not enjoy number four! Happy reading!

I haven't actually read any of them as yet. The first is on my tbr for one of the challenges I'm doing this year. If I like it, I will definitely read the rest of them.

I’m a life-long reader. I’ve never journaled about my reads and never really thought that hard about them either. I came upon reading journals somehow or somewhere and started a simple one in beginning of year. I was rating them but eventually just made a list of books I read. I’m still not really sure if I want to rate each book I read but this system is truly brilliant! I will definitely be making notes from this video or from the pdf. Thank you!

I usually use the Cawpile system but I never felt it hit just the right spot. I'm going to give this system a try and see if it better fits my needs. Good job and thank you for sharing.

Interesting but as someone who reads as much non-fiction (history mostly) as fiction I can't see this being useful

Your "simple" way is 50x more complex than my simple "would I reread this" scale 🤣 still fascinating though! That's the difference between a degree in English Lit vs English Language :P

This is inspired! I normally wouldn’t want to rate books based on anything other than enjoyment, but this balances everything rather well. Also yay for simple math! Definitely will grab the printable

Love this! I tend to rate my books based on mostly gut feeling but keeping those areas in mind, so I might try this out to see if my ratings would match!

If you are using the Canva for the week text. Use a separate text box to line up the number before printing. This will make it easier in the future. Hope that helps.

I eventually figured that out! Thanks for the tip though because odds were high I was still jaunting along clueless. Sometimes the most common sense solutions are the most elusive.

Great theme! Was wondering how you were going to follow the Magnus Archives theme and I should have known you’d come up with the perfect idea! W a labour of love! Such attention to detail! Lucky Kenny! And lucky for us that Kenny likes using a bullet journal. Much prefer this type of plan with me to the pre made planner set ups, so am thrilled I can look forward to seeing the rest of the themes. Speaking of Kenny, thank the powers that be that he wasn’t hurt in the accident. Wishing you both and the rest of your loved ones a wonderful Christmas and a happy 2025 ❤️
