Total crap, why do people listen to this nonsense ?

Sensei Yahara doesn't lie or bluff. This is the one of hundreds of his heroic stories.
@八極麻花捲 Жыл бұрын
10 years ago, I think sensei Yahara is a great teacher. But now, I think he is a great fighter but lost in his way persuading more power and damage. Everything he modified is for more power. But at what cost? Exposing vulnerable body in exchange of a little bit of power and leave no room for mistake is stupid. Turning body for extra ordinary power strike at cost of losing sight of the enemy and weak foot stand. Again, it’s giving opponent to destroy one who followed sensei Yahara’s advise. At sensei Yahara’s level and nature of reflexes, he can cover from a slip of foot or avoid attack. But for mortal like us, it’s a Nono or broken rib at best condition.

Great teaching and video, however seems Yahara Sensei is making do without a translator and has to teach entirely in English. I feel his pain trying to overcome the language barrier

Yoko Geri: If you step behind rather than in front you will create a much stronger side kick Mae Geri: you should learn back slightly to drive the hips forward.

it isn't leaning back per say it's thrusting the hip up and forward it looks the same but it's different

Dorfman is pompous that it’s almost painful to watch. Get a load of the way he condescends to the American students like they are children. Arrogant fucking pansy.

Sensei Yahara reminds me of H. Kanazawa who consistently demonstrated the full extension of techniques & the use of the center (tanden), real karate vs the other stuff.

Kihon and Kumite is the Shotokan strong points, extremely sharp and powerful. Not to be messed with. But their Kata was always neglected. Kata is only an extension of their Kihon. There is no deeper understanding.

It would be great if a sceptic, not an acolyte, could comment on their experience of attending one of these sessions or of holding the pad when the Sensei punched it. It seems that physics dictate the amount of force generated and any increase would be marginal for a person of his mass, hence the spinning. For me, karate = self-defence. I should be able to defend myself to some extent after the 1st lesson.
@gregsbestbest73834 жыл бұрын
oops!! I meant skeptic not "sceptic"
@DoomGuy-kf8fv2 жыл бұрын
Walk into a boxing gym or wrestling gym and say “I should be able to defend myself after 1 session” and watch everyone laugh, karate is no different. Anyone with a brain knows that adding more muscle and weight behind a strike increases power. Any striker can tell you that hips are the key to power. Don’t have to be an acolyte to have common sense.

This bloke was a hell of a fighter. In and out of kumite mat. Legendary fight with several Yakuza gang members, took em out, then I think he was approached by Yakuza to try employ him! Great karateka.
