You put the chute bolts in backwards, There is a square slot on the other side to hold the bolts in while tightening.You also need to bolt the cable to the chute rod.

For a driveway of that size, you would have been better off with the Toro 828 or even the Toro 1030, because that driveway is huge, and too big for a 24 inch machine. No wonder you spent so much time out there, because the snowblower was too small.

Can you set how long you want it to test run?
@MI_Magazine4 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, the exercise time is fixed in current Generac firmware. Here is what I found on their support page: Generator Exercise Facts A transfer of loads does not occur during the exercise cycle unless utility power is lost. The exercise feature only operates when the unit is placed in auto mode. 5-minute exercise cycle (non-adjustable). Some previous firmware versions had a 12-minute exercise cycle. Exercise frequency is adjustable: weekly, biweekly, or monthly. If monthly is selected, the day of the month must be selected from 1-28. Quiet Test™ Mode allows the unit to run at a lower speed during exercise to reduce noise and fuel consumption. Available on 10kW - 26 kW units only. 7.5kW PowerPact will exercise weekly for 12 minutes, with no adjustments available.

I just bought one used. It surges, the engine does. Any ideas anyone?
@MI_Magazine29 күн бұрын
The previous owner likely didn't run the fuel dry before storing it, which can lead to clogs in the carburetor, fuel lines, or filter. Try adding Mechanic in a Bottle to see if it clears things up. If the surging is really bad, drain most of the old gas, then add Mechanic in a Bottle at a higher concentration so it can work more effectively. I had a really old snowblower that sat unused for over 10 years and wouldn't start, but using Mechanic in a Bottle directly in the carb and fuel tank got it running again!

Great job on the video. If you just put the pin into one side only you still get self-propel, but it will just turn the one wheel so you can turn easily. In the case of heavy snow with icy conditions that's when you lock both wheels - and yes you lose some turning ability but usually it's so icy/snowy in the conditions to have both locked, it will just slide.

The instructions are not "poorly" written, they are shown in pictures. This man is NOT an expert, he's likely an engineer and just a homeowner who is likely installing this for the first time. I did mine yesterday from the instructions and had the same success as he did. Thanks to Toro for a great piece of equipment and instructions EASY to follow!
@jimlevine283211 күн бұрын
@@pjjones4234 Congratulations on your success, but I agree wholeheartedly with ElCid-sf8mt. Toro, if you're listening: The instructions were abysmal. If you're going to do pictures-only, they need to be a lot better than the ones that come with this snowblower. Better: DON'T make them pictures-only.
@MI_Magazine4 күн бұрын
You're mostly right. I'm not an engineer though. My view is that Toro should provide instructions dumbed down to the level of a person who is a homeowner and doing this for the first time. They can also provide a high-level pictorial for people like you who are more experienced.

In the 20 months since I installed the treads they have stayed on great. So, I've not had a chance to remove and check for any damage to the wood. Check the manufacturer's page. According to them, this is residue-free and hardwood is on the list of suggested floors.
