Hello, I am glad I found your videos. I am a foreign nurse. I failed my SANC exam recently. The type of questionaire was very different than i used to. I would say I answered most of the questions but it was more on a general knowedge. So I guess I shoud be more specific and use right terminology. Honestly I don’t know how to proper answer the questions. The question was mostly ‘’describe’’. How should I correctly answer this type of question? Please if you could help me. Thank you for sharing your notes it will really help me.

Hie there. I’m so sorry to hear about your exam that went poorly. Unfortunately I have never written a SANC exam so I cannot give specific advice regarding that. If you perhaps have the question paper you can DM on instagram the questions and I will be better help

Hi there from California, USA! I just found your video on KZbin randomly and as a PeriOperative RN in Neurosurgery at a large University hospital here, I wanted to congratulate you on an incredible presentation . As a then Student Nurse ( I am sure you have graduated now) , you had an incredibly accurate and in depth understanding of the role of the various nurse categories in theatre. We call theatre , the OR (operating room) here in the USA. You are very lucky as student nurses in SA that you get to do a solid theatre nursing rotation. That does not exist for students in the US. Having originally trained as a RN in South African wayyyy back in 1995 , I will say that South African Nursing students get an excellent education / training compared to what student nurses get here in the USA, so please appreciate that. It really sucks over here. We have nurse anesthetists here and they do not work under the MD's license. They practice as independent providers. It takes an additional 3 years at a Doctorate level in Nursing at University (after having completed your BScNursing) and at least 1 year in ICU before you can apply for the CRNA (Certified RN Anesthetist ) program. They do the same job and have the same scope as MD anesthesiologists do over here. You will make a fine RN and will be an asset to any healthcare organization . Well done again on an awesome video.

Thank you so much for this message, it’s so beautiful and really warms my heart to see you appreciate the work I do on this channel. It’s fascinating to hear how nursing occurs in the USA. I know we have our issues with nursing education in South Africa, I’m glad to hear that there is a positive to appreciate. Exposure to different disciplines in very important. I’m not sure nurse anaesthetist would ever become part of our scope here in SA due to the lack of jobs for medical professionals but glad to see it’s possible elsewhere ❤️

That’s bull, most patients come in for bullshit reasons, every first responder knows that. Preach the truth the world needs to know. Chronic callers come in because tax payers pay for their visits and instead of going to primary doctors they fill up emergency hospitals and overwhelm nurses from helping critical patients

After doing your higher certificate in nursing can you further your studies and get diploma and degree in nursing. After acquiring these can better yourself of just being a nurse

I do realise that I spoke a lot about stuff going missing in a hospital but unfortunately that’s the reality of it. As the nursing staff we cannot keep track of belongings and valuables of 30+ patients on a daily basis let alone millions in our lifetime. Unfortunately some things will fall between the cracks. Thus, it should solely not be our responsibility to be keep track of patient belongings. We do try our best to keep track by taking pictures, documenting etc however patients move around and family members remove items without notifying us. We have enough things to keep track of on a shift, please work with us by keeping your items to a minimum to both serve you and the staff taking care of you.
