I just got mine also. ALREADY have a burn line on the base. Tried to repeat an engraving and didn't think to frame it first.

For a machine that costs so much, i must say that the end result doesn't really justify the price. Look at the butterfly and the boot, the lines aren't clean and defined, the image looks slightly muddled, and the wood circle was burnt at some parts...

There is no filter on it. Can you smell the fumes? I want to buy one but I am curious about the fumes.

@@ejewelrycoejewelryco3708 not with the jewelry but you can with other items like wood. For proper ventilation you can either filter fumes outside (it comes with an exhaust pipe) or get the air purifier. I just got the purifier and will report back on it!

The necklace I engraved with handwriting is from their website, as well as the sheets of wood. I have an older video engraving on heart charms from their website with my F1 if you want to see more of their jewelry in action.

I'm not sure about those specific rocks but I have seen people engrave on rocks with the Ultra and it looks great! There was a post the F1 Facebook group showing a rock engraved with the Ultra if you're in there.

Thank you! There may be an easier way but my customer took a photo of a card with the handwriting they wanted, I uploaded it into Illustrator and made it black and white, then did an image trace and exported it as a SVG.

I loved this review - no flash, no insane editing, just a focus on something we wanted to see. The machine is quite a bit quieter than I would have thought and I really liked you showing the depth with the PlayDoh. LOL When you review the F1 and the Ultra side by side, I'd love a focus on the time difference. I know the depth of engraving will be much different, but I think the time would be valuable to show when we're deciding on which one to get. Thank you so much for your review!

Thank you so much! I know when I watch reviews I'm usually thinking "Just get to the point!" haha. I will note that I decreased background noise when editing the video so the Ultra may sound quieter than it really is. I'll see if I can better convey the sound in the next video for those interested. That's a great idea, thank you!

I love this video! I’m actually in the middle of deciding which machine to buy, I will be using it just for Jewerly engraving, stainless steel charms and pendants. Do you have any recommendations to help me decide?

Thanks for watching! I’d say hands down the Ultra for metals if you want a deep engrave. I’ll share examples of engravings on each machine in my next video. If you think you’ll be taking it to a lot of events and pop ups then I might consider the F1.

I do want to take it to pop ups and events, but if the ultra has a better engraving that can last long I don’t mind the hustle of moving it :) in your experience does the engraving made with the F1 lasts or fades with time? @@LoveliCollectiveCo. I don't have as much experience with steel as I do silver. The F1 engraves silver, it's just really shallow and I only felt comfortable using it for engraving pendants. I felt like rings and bracelets get more wear and tear and would get marked up and make the engraving fade. I'll try and show engravings with both machines in my next video!

Can you make it but white engraving on silver? I don't like black engraving for jewelry so I want something more delicate is this possible with this machine??

I love these charms so much! I haven’t used sterling clay before only fine silver as I don’t have a kiln and I was under the impression that you have to fire sterling clay at a higher temperature than 995? Maybe I’m wrong?

Thank you, I'm so happy with how they turned out!! AFTER I made them a friend mentioned that the instructions say to kiln fire only, whoops! I didn't have any issues with these but I may have gotten lucky with the design. I have been a metalsmith for 16 years but don't have much experience with metal clay. I'd trust what you think is right!

I’d say because they are quite thin torch firing is okay but for thicker pieces you would definitely need a kiln as the molecules won’t be fully sintered and the piece could bend or crack? At least - that’s what I was told!!!

Sure! I have chains in different lengths and charms with different designs so the customer can select their chain and add as many charms as they'd like to create their necklace. At events, I also offer custom engraving on the charms.

Are you able to see little lines on thr finish? I have an S1 with thr IR laser but everytime i get like really fine lines. I have 300 LPC ive tried different settings and nothing helps. Now im wondering if thats just how the S1 engraves on metal

Hi! I haven't seen any lines on mine. I would think going up on the LPC would help, but I'm not familiar with the S1. I've also seen people suggest cleaning the lens before hand!

Hi! My settings were IR Power: 100, Speed: 10, Pass: 2, Lines per cm: 300. Going down on the power should also help make it darker, it will just take more time.

I don't have the air purifier either (would definitely recommend it if someone hasn't ordered yet!). I was just engraving charms so I felt okay doing it without the purifier but wouldn't have done it with other materials that have fumes.
