I just got my canopy in for my Ranger. I also ordered a 270 awning. What size crossbars do you recommend?

How do you rate the Steeda progressives over the Eibach Performance springs?

Can you link the channel for install instructions? I'm in the process of placing an order for an f150. Did you confirm measurements? The rep I am talking to has sent me measurements but they seem to be off for my 5.5ft bed. They use millimeters so I've had to convert all of my inches to millimeters but it's off. They said 62.2 inches in width and my bed width on center of the rail caps is 65" at the narrowest part and it's 67" in length and they said 65.55" in length. To me this just isn't right... I can't order it if it's that far off.

Very good. I am going to do my Landrover Defender the same way and was wondering whether to use the rust converter first on the diff and suspension parts. I have already changed my chassis for a Galvanised chassis , but I think a coating of wax will be beneficial as I want to keep this Defender. So, you have convinced me to use the rust converter first. Thanks for the video.

Stumbled across this and great to see someone else with the idea of using the patio cleaner upside-down. I have the same one and just fitted wheels to the top to clean under my Defender. Haven't tried it yet but I'm encouraged by your results.

May have been cheaper & easier to have a custom steel bumber fabricated by a local steel fabrication company

Nice video. I'm getting something very similar. You mentioned after the rain you had a few leaks and you used a silicon tube. What colour was it clear or black? And when you mounted your awning are you running a roof rack or just a single rail on the canopy that comes standard? Cheers

@chris spooner motoring - did you do the raptor coating yourself or paid a company to do it? How is the coating holding up after a year?

It removes rust, but this cool look will not last long. You have to cover it with some oil or wax to be protected from water. Otherwise rust will get back in a few months

That is what lanoseal is my brother. It’s an oil based seal

Using your rattle gun on the axle nut makes easy work of it. You don't even have to remove the locking dent if you've got a full battery. It will just spin off. It's also easier to do this with the wheel still on and you won't even have to worry about the hub spinning. Also, if you loosen the bolts on the upper control arm, it will fall into the steering knuckle and there's not even any need to pull it down with a ratchet strap or by hand. If you remove the sway bar, you'll get more movement that makes it easier to pop the axles out. It's easier to do this while the vehicle is flat on the ground. When removing the axles, you can hold the axle at the back and keep that pushed hard up into the CV so that it doesn't separate. Alternatively, you could tie it so it won't pop out. If you drop the diff oil out, it's a great time to put new seals in, but it is worth getting something descent to press them back in, especially on the driver's side because it's recessed. It took me quite a few attempts as it kept popping out and now I've got to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't fail. I'll be removing the front diff to put an ARB air-locker in soon, so I'll address it then, but it's good to know if you have to go down that path.

Funny you mentioned the 35mm. Everyone says 36mm, but I tried mine at the store and found that the 35mm fit perfectly. Having a 36mm is good for aftermarket CVSs though. A lot of them will have 36mm nuts.

I really like the fitment on the front fenders, what make are they and where did you source them? I've been considering using OEM raptor ones from the scrap yard.

Pretty sure you're meant to reapply it every year. Just give it a spray when you do your oil.

Good job. For beach driving in Australia, we use either fisholene (fish oil) or lanolin. Apply it with a pump up garden sprayer. Much easier on the wrist/fingers!
