4:38 Glad to see a kettle!! It's so nice to have hot water without having to make a run to the buffet or wait for room service to show up. I've never heard of them being banned, but I know pressing irons are definitely a no-go because of the increased risk were a fire to spread onboard.

I agree, it’s sooo nice to have one. I also just had one in my cabin on Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth (which also gave us biscuits in the cabin as well. Nothing like a bikkie with your cuppa!! Most cruise lines ban them and confiscate them if you try and bring them on, as well as coffee pots, electric blankets and rice cookers!

We were on Queen Elizabeth from 16th to 23rd December in 1068 and loved the room. It was a lot larger than the Balconey cabin we were in the previous year. We choose this cabin because we were seldom in it and certainly we were not disturbed by the noise from the Queens room in the evening as we were in the Queens room, Theatre, Garden lounge or elsewhere enjoying the cruise not going to bed early to sleep. By the time we got to bed there was no or little noise from the Queens room or anywhere above us. We enjoyed the free room service for breakfast and found we were more than happy with the food including what we were served in the steakhouse. This was our second cruise on Queen Elizabeth as we love our first so much last year.
@itstimetotravel_now11 күн бұрын
So this is a great location cabin if you’re out and about enjoying the evening entertainment in Queens Room. 💃🏼 I wonder if your room was under the carpeted area? Yes, totally agree, the steakhouse had the best food on board in my opinion, loved eating there. The made to order pizza was also good. What other ships have you sailed on and how do you find this one compares?
@davidbee739412 күн бұрын
Cruise lines should not sell rooms that have that much noise.
@itstimetotravel_now12 күн бұрын
It was worse than the video shows, think high heels on a wooden floor above your head. Plus they had chair aerobics,Zumba, line dancing, so lots of stomping. I’m not a complainer, but when the light fittings and head board start shaking and vibrating, you know it’s an issue. I guess the trade off is, it’s a larger room. I was torn about moving but valued the space over noise because it was an interior. 🧜♀️
@craigritchie13 күн бұрын
Hope you're getting fed better than we did when last on QE between Japan Alaska earlier this year. The food servings in the main dining was woeful. There were a lot host of issues on QE back then, it was very much a case of "the good, the bad and the ugly".
@itstimetotravel_now12 күн бұрын
The food was average, except for the steakhouse. I tried to not have high expectations going into it because I couldn’t figure out how a ship of 2000 passengers and 900 crew could offer a luxury product. Bottom line is, they can’t. Glad to hear I’m not alone (because I don’t like to sound like a whinger) 🧜♀️
@davidhouston394614 күн бұрын
I can't imagine that a wee bit of beat or music would do anything other than rock me off to sleep. My wife wouldn't hear anything from about two seconds after her head hit the pillow. However if there was dancing in the Queens Room we would be there anyway. My problem would be the lack of a window. I'm quite sure our cases would fit under that bed without any problem, as they do with the beds on QM2. Perhaps you should buy cases on the basis of whether they will fit under beds and take different sizes so they can nest inside each other.
@itstimetotravel_now13 күн бұрын
Sadly it wasn’t so much the music, it was heels stomping on a wooden floor above that disturbed us the most… perhaps the filter on my mic was too good to hear them! The configuration of the bed meant the cases couldn’t slide under from the side due to the wall location - it wasn’t the size that was the issue. On 67 cruises I’ve never had an issue fitting them under the bed. And they do already fit inside each other 💡

Why would anyone do this? Its $400 per day if you manage to cruise every day of the year which is pretty unrealistic. Cruise less days and the price per day goes up even higher. You can do better than that booking individual cruises and not have to worry about trying to cruise the entire year.
@asimplewanderer610115 күн бұрын
It's clearly an upper class luxury. If you have to question the price, then it probably isn't marketed to you, anyway.
@c2964-o9e15 күн бұрын
@@asimplewanderer6101 Ha, not even a luxury cruise line so when you save your pennies you can try one of those.And im assuming since you worked on a cruise ship you have a long way to go...

How do you know that the other commenter - @asimplewanderer6101, worked on a cruise ship? We worked on a Carnival ship for fun many years ago - but not for the money. And yeah if people have money to spend, why not do this for a year? We won't. But we were just showing what options are out there for those who want to give it a try. Ha and speaking of "luxury" cruise lines - we tried on last week and it fell way short of the mark!

This is a "penthouse"??? Looks more like a larger balcony cabin. No separate seating area, dining table and so on. Only plus is storage, and bathroom
@itstimetotravel_now2 ай бұрын
It’s about 420sqft so bigger than a club continent suite on Azamara which is what I’m usually in. I found it doesn’t feel as big internally as Azamara but you lose space to the walk in robe and larger bathroom, both which were a plus. It’s about the size of a junior suite on a royal Caribbean ship, so about 1.5 cabin width, not as big as a grand suite on Royal. Definitely bigger than a balcony cabin though. Which ships are you comparing it to? 🧜♀️

Tina and I cruised on the Azamara Journey last year and booked onboard our next Azamara Quest cruise to Africa for February of 2025. We loved the cozy feeling of the Azamara Journey and since the Quest is almost identical, we expect to again feel like we're sailing in an old English country manor house. Like our first Azamara cruise, our cabin will be mid-ship, deck seven. Thank you for the tour! The views of the spaces were all familiar, which is just fine for us.

The staff are amazing. We were the first voyage after a dry dock . The ship was spotless. The crew work constantly to keep her that way.

I don't recommend being above or below the nightclub - unless you plan on being at the nightclub every night! Even a few floors up you may get the bass reverb pumping through, so choose a different location.

They stopped cruise ships docking in Venice itself a few years ago. It was quite a drive to get there. Not much infrastructure there and a really small terminal building but it was ok for a small ship.
