I've got a couple of Tomix turnouts coming this week. I didn't order the controllers for them. Kinda hope can operate by hand. I figured more switches for the 4 year old would be a problem. He keeps assing with the train controller knobs.

I preordered this dc model last year before Kato released the recent release of DCC Sound versions earlier this year, which to my knowledge should have Tsunami Sound decoders installed

Yes the Broadway Limited Y6B is a really good model. To my knowledge it has a die cast body so it’s pretty heavy and will pull a ridiculous amount of freight cars. It also comes with a Paragon 4 Sound Decoder, which can be taken out and replaced with other decoders such as ESU, Tsunami, Digitrax, etc. I do recommend the Y6B, the cheapest price I’ve seen it is $400-480 on Trainworld, which is cheaper than Broadway’s price on their website, you might be able to find a cheaper price on EBay or other model train sellers

Lionel guy here, that 1656 switcher is a great find. The tender hooks up to the locomotive and it has a bell that rings. All that stuff looks like it will clean up rather nicely. I would get them going again and enjoy them, they’re dang near bulletproof.

Something that you'd probably like to hear: every single locomotive and coach on this train only entered service today. Today is also the first day of 5-car trains running in normal service, so you got lucky here!

Thanks, the layout is part of a club layout that’s open to the public 5 days a week. Official overview videos of the layout aren’t available yet but there are others posted by museum guests
