Hi Dave, did you figure out what the noise was in the end? I'm having what seems to be a similar noise coming from my rodeo too.

I miss mine. Being in the UK, the winter has meant I can't really ride it too often, and certainly not for any decent length rides. I just love hearing the V-Twin go. I don't find the comfort too much of a problem, either. Must be my fat arse!

+Matt Bennett I'm riding mine this morning to work. Can't say the weather here is ever much of a problem. If anything I avoid the bike when it's really hot. Nothing worse than sitting at the traffic lights on a hot day with all the heat soak from the engine...

if you look up the bearing for the rodeo it has 2 dust caps in some cases...they are gold..i have one on my rodeo dlx 94 series and it has come loose and its fluttering making a realy shitty noise...vibration on takeoff but no vibration once moving..basicly..the bearing is on its way out..or maybe just the rubber...bearings are only warrantied for 2 years...heavy towing....stress forcing climbing will crush and wear out bearing fast...hard takeoff and over driving the axis of the shaft will damage it at extreme angles..so if your bearing has these issues...replace it...hope I helped you

Sweet bike. I hope to get one whenever I can. Seems really rare though, I know of only 2 Aprilia dealers in my entire state. Even then, only one dealer has any Dorsos and there's only one of them! I was thinking of the DRZ400 SM instead but I just fell in love with the Aprilia's Italian looks and the twin cylinder sound. way? How tall are you by the way? The Dorsoduro's apparently 870mm or 34.2 in tall and I'm only 170 cm/5'7" tall with a 30 in inseam, but it should be okay. I can lean probably lean it to the side while stopped and use one foot.

Andrew Webb Stessco Catcher 413. Mariner 30hp two stoke on the back. Rides really well in the water. Nice rigid hull. And it gets through rough stuff well too although a bit uncomfortable.Gunwale nice and wide. I have LED's installed underneath for night fishing.

Mate when it comes to bang for your buck, the Aprilia wins over a Ducati any time. I have owned a Duc and the cost of parts and service are just a joke. The Aprilia will give you a real Italian high performance bike at a reasonable cost with quite low ongoing expenses.
@daveethetinnie
@daveethetinnie 11 жыл бұрын
I guess that depends on how well you look after it. The motor would certainly be good for 75000+Kms. Service intervals are 10000kms. I use mine to commute to and from work and it is a gem. Uses about 5.8litres of fuel per 100km. The Dorsoduro is definitely not a toy Motard.

I like this bike I hope its not too tall for me. My current bike has 860mm seat height so its a one cm dif between the 2 bikes but also another extra 40 kgs, having the weight so high may be a prob for me? (im a chick) I like the 'raptor" color.
@daveethetinnie
@daveethetinnie 11 жыл бұрын
I usually fill up every 150k's. As a commuter I average about 6 litres pre 100 km. On the highway I get around 4.2 litres pre 100 km. It is a great bike. Probably not the most comfortable but a blast to ride.

Do yourself a favour and go for a few test rides. I tried the Ducati 795 and 1100 Hyper's and the Aprilia 750 and 1200. The V twin on both have mind blowing power. For me the Dorro 750 was the best fit. Very, very fast. I have had it over 200kph just quietly. The newer models have abs and traction control. Parts for the Aprilia are waaaay cheaper than the Ducati's. As for the Ducati. It was a bit more comfortable to sit on for extended periods. I use my Dorro to commute to work. I love it.

Hmmm. My first thought are have you got the rings in the right position? the gap in the rings should be either diagonally opposite or at 45 degrees from each other. The oil ring maybe faces back.... It has been a while since I did it. I remember going to my local yamaha dealer with the piston and rings and talking to one of the mechanics
