Is it really just me who feels this is not the original music? This version seems slightly altered compared to the original CD I bought. I still have the ripped mp3s of that CD and I can clearly tell a difference. Dirty nightgown is definitely differently produced. However, I wonder if it was because of the original scratching sound. It was such an epic use of distortion, but it seems many people thought it was the speaker causing issues, which is a bummer because it was so well done. I do wonder if Felix felt the need to make it more radio friendly. Regardless, his 3rd album is my favourite album of all time. I do not know another artist like Felix Laband. However, I have come to theory about Amon Tobin. I feel Amon Tobin is the Felix Laband of America. Evoking unique nostalgia that feels uniquely American. But the unseen and forgotten parts. Backdoor vibes. Felix Laband is like that for South Africa.

50:50 sounds like the ending of a song by Debussy: Cloches a travers les feuilles. It’s amazing how older composers influence music nowadays one hundred years later.

Happened to be in the record store the day one of his older albums got a first time Vinyl release. Grabbing the album off the shelf, I turned around and he was actually in the store! Told him what a huge fan I was and he gladly signed my record and took a pic with me. What a helluva nice guy! Turns out he stays just up the road from me. All of his albums are amazing but this one will always hold a special place in my heart.

Rumour has it one time Oloff was sat next to Jar Jar Binks on a flight. Jar Jar kept kicking the chair in front of him and generally being obnoxious, nobody knew what to do. Eventually one of the flight attendants came over and asked Oloff if he would perform one of his songs to calm Jar Jar down, and when Oloff began rapping the first verse to Doing It Stealthy, Jar Jar immediately relaxed. To this day the two are still close friends.
