@hazmatt81 Жыл бұрын
They are Sano Bombshell Forks. During that "Era" they were one of the best forks/manufacturers around for aftermarket parts on 50's. But have been long gone for over a decade now. I was lucky to find them on Craigslist back in the day and got the triple clamps, bar mounts, forks and the 12" front wheel with tube and tire for $500. I think the forks alone back then were over $500 alone.

I rode the GAP and C&O Canal trails with my buddy. I had an FX 4 Sport Carbon and he had the Sirrus 6.0. His bike made so much noise with the suspension on the neck. It literally sounded like his bike was crying; I think that a lot of dust/dirt may have got in there. I had the best time ribbing him!!!! It's a fancy bike; but, it has too many moving parts in my opinion. Also, the bike seems to put the rider in more of an upright position when compared to Trek FX4 Sport Carbon, FX5 and FX6. It's a nice bike, don't get me wrong; I just don't think that you're getting much more for your money - my bike didn't cry once. I will admit, he got a few more compliments about his bike; I got the one complement about my bike that mattered, from my buddy. Anyway, it's all good because we all have the same passion.

I Just picked mine up this past week. I kept checking the Trek Website and found two shops. One was already sold, the other was available so I paid my deposit and drove over 100 miles one way to pick it up. Glad I did because three people called for the bike right after I paid my deposit. Keep checking the Trek website. Nice upgrade from my 2004 aluminum Trek.

I looked at several different fitness bike models and decide to go with the Trek FX Sport 6. I have been on a waiting list since the middle of September of last year. Talked to the bike shop last week and they are not expecting my bike to come in until the middle of June. The date has been pushed back at least 6 times now. I really hope I get it soon because I want to keep my current bike (Giant Roam 2) on my bike trainer and enjoy a faster lighter bike!

Really sweet bike. Been riding my FX Sport 6 for over a year now and love it. Put about 3000 miles in 14 months of urban riding and the components are top quality and have held up well with no issues- I've done the occasional indexing of the rear from watching KZbin videos and that's all the maintenance! I went tubeless and that's the way to go. I would wholeheartedly recommend this bike to anyone.

I can’t get one . All on a waiting list . I bought a Pinerello road bike 😡 worst decision 😥.
@hazmatt814 жыл бұрын
That’s terrible. I thought I wasn’t going to get one because it took from June til December for them to actually get one in. I’ve never ridden a Pinerello so I can’t comment. I’ve ridden Specialized and Trek and prefer Trek and Shimano Components vs SRAM. This pandemic has definitely hurt the production side of bicycles but has basically wiped out all local shops of inventory. I have a feeling in a year or less you should see lots of great deals on bikes that people bought during the height of the pandemic but won’t ride it anymore once other luxuries open back up. Good luck, hope you can eventually get one.

Please do some follow up videos/ reviews, I'm actually on the waiting list for my FX Sport 6. Lovely Bike, love the finishes. Is there any follow-up pointers you would like to share on the picking up process from your Local bike shop.
@hazmatt814 жыл бұрын
Definitely will be doing future reviews of the bike after getting some miles on it. The process was fairly simple when picking up. They just called me to let me know that it arrived and they were going to assemble it then call me later in the week. Once they called me I showed up with my mask and paid for it and walked out. They mentioned to come back after a month to have the cables all adjusted due to stretching. So maybe after I get it all tuned up I’ll get it out for a ride again while giving some of my opinions on the bike.

Having a CDL is a must nowadays with the books here in So Cal and even Nor Cal (IBEW Local 1245). To apply to the apprenticeship (NJATC) it's a must to have your CDL along with transcripts showing a passing grade in High School Algebra. Letter of Recommendation from a former supervisor. Any non union experience in the similar line of work is also helpful. However many have now gone above that and went to "Lineman School" such as the NLC (Northwest Line College). They teach real basic fundamentals in the trade but in no way is it anything like what first hand experience is on a line crew. So, if you have thousands to blow on a Line School, it might increase your chances. The trade has seen quite the boom in the last decade, so I've heard the stories of waiting and waiting. Another option is to try a different regional apprenticeships across the US. There's one that is in the Arizona, New Mexico, Texas region. One in the northern states of the US. Just depends how bad an individual wants it. There are many sacrifices to be made, but one must stay focused on the end goal and look for any opportunity that presents itself if it's involving the trade.

What tires are u running in this video? DOT
@hazmatt814 жыл бұрын
Michelin Starcross 5 Tires. They are NOT DOT rated. But actually just bought a MotOZ DOT I/T tire for the rear since I’ve wore out the rear since this video was made. The Michelin was a great tire but of course only really for dirt. I hated the DOT stock tires this bike came with. But I’m anxious to get this MotOZ tire on the rear and see how much different it rides both on the road and dirt. I’ll probably have to make a review video regarding the new tire.
