A bigger auger would make it much easier to pull big fish out. I use a 10 inch at 11 Mile.

FYI Your first crappie, while light in color, was a Black Crappie. White Crappie’s spot patterns create vertical bars or stripes along their bodies. Black Crappies have random spots all over their bodies. Nice video!

really appreciate you sharing your technique. what kind of camera rig are you running for video capture? I really like the stabilization you have and the accuracy you have keeping the shot framed while fighting and then releasing fish. thanks

Thanks, Buck! I used a GoPro Hero 8 in a waterproof housing and just clip it to my fishing vest. The GoPros have built in stabilization.

It has good fishing year round, just need to avoid the crowds. The south part of the lake is wakeless, which makes it a bit more pleasant during the crazy summertime crowds. Get in and out early ;)
