The last time I enjoyed this museum was in the early eighties when it was located at Fort Bliss, Texas. Old 19D Cavalry Scout here giving a shout out to all my fellow 19D's both past and present. L Troop, 3/3 ACR...Scouts Out!

I went to Desert Storm with A 1/3 ACR. I'm back here in El Paso. It just isn't the same without the third herd here. But now 1 AD is here, and they were my first assignment. In Germany... Thanks for the walk around. I'm gonna have to get over there sometime. BTW, there are a few tanks that we captured from Iraq that are still here...

They had the same thing at Fort Carson that they had at Fort Bliss, only in Carson, they had all been repainted (probably to protect them from the corrosion). It seems that, restoring things like tanks takes a bit of time and effort.

WAS the last heavy armored Cavalry Regiments . . . . Obama demoted it to a Stryker Combat Brigade . . . why? To save money, of course . . . now the spear has no head lacking totally air superiority a Soviet Motor Rifle Regiment would be a hard fight whereas when I was in, just before we upgraded to the M1 in 1982, we'd have wiped out a Soviet Motor Rifle DIVISION.

The Flogger recently obtained its US airworthiness certification, and is now the only one flying in the country [one on the East coast lost its certificate, I understand].. They advert the Flogger as the 'power' member of the Red Steel Jet Team, an adjunct operation to CWAM..

The T-72 and the BRDM were taken off the battlefield by me and a small group of 3rd ACR Maintenance guys! We also dragged 2 artillery pieces, a ZPU-4, and 2 MTLB's that were driven back to Saudi Arabia along with us. Oh man this brings back memories.

Yep slow. "Full Metal Jousting" on the History channel is much greater than "Knights of Mayhem" from Discovery Channel. In Knights of Mayhem (above) Charlie Andrews just fights people he knows and only allows people he can beat to compete and "bans" everyone else from his "closed community" style competition. He has a poor unaproachable attitude for the sport and is a self proclaimed "WORLD jousting champion" Knights of Mayhem is a docu-drama reality TV program where FMJ is a Competition event.
