That lag was actually illegal. You are required to begin your lag before the opponent's ball contacts the end rail. She waited until after his had hit to begin hers.

The rules for lagging are on page 44 of the APA Rulebook. The only mention of when each player lags is “at approximately the same time”. There is no rule that states they have to begin their lag before the other players finishes.

@whatcomesnext_fl You are correct, it appears that isn't a written APA rule. Where I shoot at, they use the WPA ruleset and waiting for the other shooters ball to hit the end cushion is considered illegal and the players must lag again.

Lighting at Mad Hippo is terrible for recording. Sound wise, I removed a noise gate from my recording of the voice over and it seems to have gotten rid of the worst of the clipping. I had to do more post processing though, to get rid of background noise.

Thank you for changing Intro music. Love it

Thanks, I'm working on sound quality for the videos, and on better color correction.

Seems like y’all get a LOT of timeouts for it being Playoffs
@whatcomesnext_fl18 күн бұрын
Playoffs here get the same number of timeouts as normal League play. Once we get to the tri-annual tournaments it goes to 1 timeout per player, regardless of skill level.

Jim, not trying to be rude. I've never heard you speak in person. But the audio sounds like it cuts out at times and makes you hard to understand. Not sure if it's just me, just how you sound, or if there actually is an issue with the audio. Seems to be that way in all of the videos of yours that I have watched.
@whatcomesnext_fl20 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. It's something I am trying to track down. It doesn't sound that way before the file gets uploaded, but the majority of channels I watch don't have this issue.

Ok. Hopefully you're able to get it sorted. Thanks for the content.

Altering a cue balls path or stopping the cue ball before it has a chance to stop on it's own is a ball in hand foul. Of course, it was already a ball in hand foul. In a tournament you would have to have a referre witness this to have anything done about it. Always a good call to ask for a ref when a shot looks like it could result in ball in hand.

Anyone else get some weird audio issues when viewing this one? Towards the end I experienced two times in which teh audio got a lot of echo/reverb. The video does not have that when I play teh source on my computer though?

As a viewer.. seemed like Julio was “Sharking” by standing sooo close while Brian was shooting. I do not agree with that.. move back. But as stated.. JMO

Yeah, I agree. There are a lot of players in our division that do not move away from the table when their opponent is shooting. I will stare at them until they move if it’s bugging me.

Well, I learned a few lessons doing this at least. WiFi at Mad Hippo is not sufficient to supoort a smooth livestream. Trying to use my tablet as a camera, over WiFi compounds the issues. And, lastly, the music at Mad Hippo is way to loud to try and do any kind of commentary live. Live and learn.

George was right... The 7 did moved when you look closer. 😉 He was also right on the first ball in hand too. Thanks for the video though

Thanks Peter, goes to show, always a good idea to have someone watch any shot that could be a close call.
