THANK YOU so much for providing the Canva template for your homeschool schedule. 💖 I’ll be homeschooling 7th, 4th, and kindergarten this year along with a 2 year old and 5 month old. 😅 I’ve been wrestling for a few months now wondering how I was going to be able to spread my time out and the visual color coding just helped me SO MUCH to figure that out. 🫶🏻 I am in love with the “sibling time” and I think it’ll work so much better than letting my 2 year old run wild all day while we try to get our studies done! ✅

Side note; I know sometimes Pitocin is necessary but in Kaiser they did not try anything else for me and didn't tell anyone it's a black box medication. Thankfully it didn't end up worse but I did have some significant side effects from that. If I could have been at home with a midwife or at least in another hospital I am convinced it would've been better.
@ari3lz3pp3lin2 күн бұрын
I had both for my first, that's at least what I say though technically only the labor was partly epidural. They had to get me off the meds before pushing because the epidural medication was dangerous to my baby's heart. I felt everything. I am thankful I had an epidural after waiting for three hours in the waiting room, and I wasn't able to sleep for two days before that...I couldn't sleep on the epidural either because obviously I was still in labor and a lot was happening. If you can sleep, let yourself sleep. If you can't sleep (I had a major rash for example, and other issues due to pregnancy) at least try not to panic. You WILL make it through. It took about four hours to push which felt like hell since I was so exhausted and nauseous. The pain didn't compare to how bad the nausea was and I was afraid I was going to pass out or choke on vomit. I don't know many women with that experience so chances are unlikely. But just keep focusing on the desire to birth a healthy baby as much as is possible.
How did you create the name tracing sheet for your daughter?

I can’t remember. I just googled free name tracing sheet I believe.

My son just turned 5 in May and completed TG&TB preschool program last year, which he did fine with. However, after looking at TG&TB kindergarten, it looks way too advanced for him. I looked at their kindergarten prep, but I still think switching curriculums might be the way to go. That being said, I don't know if he should start with AAR pre-reading level or level 1. We did the placement test, and he got 16 out of 17 so they are recommending pre-reading level, however, I'm concerned it may be redundant being that he already knows all of his letters and sounds. He can also generally tell you what letter a word starts with or ends with. In your experience, where would you start a child who already knows all of his letters and sounds?
@AnnaBruceblog4 күн бұрын
I would definitely go with what the placement test recommends, but you know him best so go with your gut.

Also we are using TGTB kindergarten with my 5 yr old who knows all her letter sounds and it’s going great. You can take it as slow or fast as you want

I tore so much with my epidural birth and not at all with my natural birth, since I was able to control the pushing and position. For my epidural I was pushing so hard for two hours with the practitioner directed pushing while for my natural birth I was able to wait until my body instinctively was pushing and not bear down hardly at all. Also, breast feeding was a lot easier with my natural birth, made a huge difference for us! I would definitely prepare for a natural birth if I were you too, since I had zero pain relief with the epidural for my first baby, was on pitocin (which made it continuous, horrible pain), and ended up needing a c-section. Apparently more than 10% of people have little to no pain relief with their epidurals, so it really helps to go in psychologically prepared for anything

Thanks for sharing this! I just purchased morning manna and am very excited! I would love to see a flip through of your binder that you keep for records and logs. If you have one. This will be our first year homeschooling. It was a very sudden decision but I have felt like god has put it on my heart to do so for a while now. So I have one of those children that loves to sleep in. It is not unusual for my kindergartner to sleep until 11am if I don't get her up. Her bedtime is 7. But she has always tried to stay up and play even though all we have on is a night light. If I do try and wake her at earlier times I sometimes get a very groggy, grumpy child that is problematic when we try to do homeschool. You said you had one child that sleeps in, what works for you in getting that child up earlier to start their day? Just curious. Oh and could you share the KZbin channel you do for ballet, that sounds like a wonderful idea. Thank you.
@AnnaBruceblog4 күн бұрын
I have to laugh because we literally just say “you have to get up now or you’re in trouble.” And since we have firm boundaries in place my kids know I mean what I say. But also I give lots of grace so if I know he’s had a rough night or a busy couple of days I’m fine letting him sleep in a little.

For unit studies I made a list of unit studies I found and my 4th and 6th grader take turns picking a unit for us to do as a family! I always try go for units that take 2-4weeks to complete but sometimes if the unit is longer I may count it as 2 turns for that child!!! By doing it like this my children are way more interested, pay more attention and they get to learn a lot about their interests!!!

Thank you again for sharing this great schedule!!! I am definitely going to try this as I love the idea and concept! This will be my 4th year homeschooling and I have always been pulled in different directions (normally I feel like I'm always doing circles 😂). I love how you incorporate your older kids to entertain the little one and to do what he wants to do as it's not about the older kiddos during that time. Brilliant!!! 👏 I need more organization and a plan (as I always wing it and it doesn't work 😢 and have been trying to figure out a way to make it enjoyable for all of us). I think I found it thanks to you ❤. I am so excited to create our schedule and to use your guide as a template! My boys are 8, 6 and 18 months. I think I just found the best schedule ever!!!
