i remember this song from 'back in the day' when it was current and played on the radio. well, i remembered just some of the last few words, did not remember the story that he told. what i remembered is the words 'cadillac jack' and the fact that he took his last ride in a 'long, long, black CADILLAC.' delighted to hear the entire song again after 50 more more years. going to be playing this a lot more as i rebuild my memory,and i will be checking out more of andre williams. thank you lancashire a go go.

I was a friend of Ruben. Can you tell me where you obtained the photo used in your video and how you determined it was of Ruben Wright (assuming that's supposed to be Ruben). I have only a 1954 photo of The Capris and did not know him until the late 1970s-1980s, so it's difficult for me to recognize him in this 1966 photo. Thanks so much!
@lancashireagogo110 ай бұрын
Hi Kevin, pretty sure it isn't Ruben regrettably. I think I just used an image (of the era) for illustration purpose only. All that said, I can only find one photo of him on Discogs from his days with the Capris and he is seated in front of someone who does look like the guy in the photo with matching jacket, tie and cumberband! Very spooky. Thanks for your interest. I still have most of his fantastic records as a solo artist. Love his music.
