When playing Project X Zone, I never really minded much that the first game in the series was never localized. But then when playing this one, which seemed to make much stronger references to Namco X Capcom, I thought it a shame that I didn't have all the context for the plot aside from database entries.

There's two games of context missing! Namco X Capcom, as you know, and Endless Frontier EXCEED, the third game. Which is where T-ELOS and Saya became allies.

@@Neremworld I forgot about Endless Frontier. Now that you mention it though, I do remember looking into it a little bit (like I did with a lot of games and franchise introduced to me by Project X Zone). And from those vague memories, I do recall seeing some of the main characters from this series, which got me wondering if there was a connection there. Like most of the games I looked into though, I never actually played it. Of those that seemed interesting, the only unfamiliar game I actually went on to play after that Project X Zone introduction was Resonance of Fate.

@@gurvmlk The Endless Frontier games are two of the unsung great RPGs ever made. Sure, the story isn't anything amazing or groundbreaking, but it has a solid plot, fun as hell characters, and super fun gameplay.

@@Neremworld Games don't need to be groundbreaking to be good. Sometimes all you need is the same thing we've seen a million times already, tweaked just enough to stand out so it's not just a carbon copy of the rest.

Jun's the Equivalent of a Septian Church Dominion (especially considering how OP he is during his stages), Gorou's like Mueller Vander or Lt. Colonel Neidhartt (military officers who could solo entire armies), Ryouta's like Patrick Hyarms (utterly useless but gets an A for effort), Asuka's a Society Enforcer but lacks the ruthlessness to go along with their plans (so pretty much like Society defectors, Joshua, Sharon, and Renne), Kou is the plucky pretty boy protagonist who is totally in the dark about how much they appeal to the opposite sex (so Lloyd, Rean, Joshua, Estelle, and more recently Van). Sora's the musclehead athlete who's wholeheartedly devoted to improving her skills (Laura, and Anelace), Shio is the tough guy who looks like he can kick your ass (and probably could too) but underneath that is a major softy (Randy, Gaius. Agate...there's too many to list), Yuuki is the tech head with the brain the size of a planet (so Renne, Tio, Emma, Elliot, Altina, Lapis, Quatre), Mitsuki is very basic Bracer type, especially given her bit of rivalry with Asuka because of her Nemesis standing, and Rion is very favorite celebrity/crowd pleaser (geez it's like they're even hiding her inspiration being Prince Olivert Reise Arnor...sorry, Olivier Lenheim).
