On the 26th Jan 2025 I will be 10 years sober. In recent years I lost the feeling I need to explain myself to other people. I just don't drink. If they want to know more I just tell them I don't want all the negativity that comes with it. And that's it. They just accept it. One of the hardest part in the beginning is other people not being able to accept you don't drink. They want to know why. But why?! It wares you out and can be a serious hazard for your sobriety. Your Japanese friends seem really supportive.
@lostincultureАй бұрын
@@kenobisghost9572 yeah it’s been some time since I’ve made this video, and I can say I have lost a lot of friends. But my new way of living has helped me gain loads of amazing new ones. @ you’re heading in the right direction. I think people assume that once you quit that needs to be it. But realistically drastic changes like this come with failures too. It’s part of the process. Don’t beat yourself up too much but be proud you’re on this path now. Every time you make a mistake you get the feeling of not wanting to feel that way again. Feel your emotions mate and you will eventually do it!

I quit 2 Memorial day weekends ago. Not after. No last harrah. Went into the holiday...no more. The big test. At 1case beer and 1 box wine a week. That's a lot of alcohol that didnt poison my liver, blood, brain, heart,
@user-tk3de8uz8tАй бұрын
Side effects of quitting Alcohol > 1. Your credit card bills are lower 2. Your bank balance is higher 3. You have more energy in the morning 4. You gain immediate respect 5. You filter out the BS friends you thought you were your friends AND you dont have to split the drinks bill

@@vivekkaundal9103 I just wanna say! Very well done for doing it and you should be very proud to be 5 months sober! Your point about not being able to have one or two is spot on. It took me a long time to figure that out for myself. I too watched other people limit their intake, but for some reason I can't do that. Abstinence is great though, and well worth the effort.
