Thats a key, not a fob

Why did you get a new key fob and where did you get it? My factory key fobs wont lock the door but will unlock them sometimes, the signal seems non existent for the lock button but suspect the buttons are old. I’ve seen some on Amazon but I’m not sure what’s needed to make an Amazon key work after cutting is

Wind noise something from the plastic. Try folding your sideview mirror while on high speed. Mine was coming from the sideview mirror after awhile it was gone.

You left out the last step. After holding lock for two seconds, the last step is to shut the door, then you can test to see if it worked. Do it any sooner and you fail to link the fob.

I can’t seem to get it. My truck gives me the “lock / unlock” to show its ready… but when I press the buttons on my remote I get no response. Tried over 50 times now ahhhh

you are a HERO! I could not get my 01 4runner into the pairing mode to accept the fob. Using this manual cycle idea made it go in to the pairing mode and my fob paired perfectly. worked first try!

Sounds like the hydraulic pump/assembly if still equipped. Replaced mine with bilstein shocks and beefed up torsion bars and haven’t heard of it anymore. If you are not up on the task I would try drain and fill of the hydraulic fluids. Lots of how To videos on KZbin. Best of luck!

Thanks, this worked on my '99 LX 470! I had to first program the key to work with the ignition, but after doing that this worked to program the buttons on the fob to lock/unlock the doors. I purchased my key from www.remotesremotes.com for $25 and had it cut by a local locksmith for $25. Super glad this worked out as the dealer quoted me $200 for the key and $150 to program it ($350 total).

Is this a cheap Chinese key or does it only work on keys from TOYOTA. any help appreciated PS nice work

Everything works and my car locks and unlocks automatically but nothing happens when i press the keys on the fob. literally nothing. Might be a faulty fob ? I changed the batteries recently the red light comes on but idk why it doesn’t work

How did you change the center console to an after market stereo in? Can you help me out with a link or the part number for the Air control unit at the bottom? Mine is at the top above the NAV system. LX 470 2002.

Thank you this video helped us to programme the keys for the automatic locks for the doors, however we had to do another routine to code to the immobiliser, which was just as easy to follow but from a different video. I am so happy because between the 2 videos we have managed to save our selfs over £200 for 5 mins work/effort on what the Toyota dealer wanted to charge for a new key and coding. Thank you again for your help We have a 2001 Toyota Landcruiser Amazon

2002 Sequoia. Have your master Toyota key at hand (black key) 1. Insert black programmed key into ignition. 2. Press and release accelerator pedal 5 times within 15 seconds of inserting key into ignition. 3. Press and release brake pedal 6 times within 20 seconds of step 2. 4. Remove black key from ignition switch. 5. Insert new unprogrammed key into ignition within 10 seconds of step 4. 6. Press and release accelerator pedal once within 10 seconds of step 5. 7. Once these steps are performed properly you will see the immobilizer warning lamp begin to flash and after one minute the lamp will stop flashing. Once the immobilizer warning lamp stops flashing you will have ten seconds to insert an additional key to be programmed. 8. Within ten seconds of inserting key into ignition press and release accelerator pedal once. 9. Immobilizer warning lamp will flash and after one minute the lamp will shut off.

So just a clarification. When done pressing the lock button on the new fob immediately close and open the door or it doesnt take the programming. At least that's what I spent 15 minutes figuring out. Thanks
