Michael, things are going well.. But, what is the status of your electric fence? You need that in case those dogs, or other dogs come around. It would be a real shame to have the situation repeat itself again! Can your helper assist getting the fence equipment from your brother-in-law (I believe) and help install it? Please don't forget.

You can’t kill hawks in Georgia. Big fines and jail time. Protect your flock by covered coops and the rolling coops. Or pay the price.

1 group of mine are free range, the other flock is in a coop. I'm having a swooping predator as well. It hasn't gotten 1 yet, but I'm gonna give it a new diet soon.

Oh my from top to bottom there are predators around your place. The easiest for you is going to be to make the coop like an aviary then. Fencing the top/like a roof will prevent anything from getting in or chickens flying out and will keep your mind at peace all the time. My whole back garden is like an aviary and i dont have a second of worry.♥ Get more mesh and stretch it from that coop's roof to the fence in front here giving it a fenced ''roof''.

You had a long, but productive day! The fencing looks great and getting the solar charger/electric fence system is a bonus. Could you build a wire "shelter" that the chickens could run into if a hawk tries to get them? Not sure if it makes any sense or not, but some thing with a roof and an entrance that the hawk would not want to go in and try to pull the chickens out of. Crazy idea? (thinking of when you are home, the chicks are out, but you may be in the house or on the tractor mowing at the time.)

Jr. wants out to run around!!! LOL! Nice gates. Getting boards on the bottom, all the way around will help. The upper brace on the fruit farm gate is a good idea, and should keep the posts straight. Those black hinges are a bit small, and could use a couple more screws, don't ya think? (LOL!) Don't you love it when a plan starts to come together? Blessing to you. Remember.......

Michael, good news. I would make sure you put everything down in writing....when, where, what time, what was said/agreed to , who said what. Send them a copy with the numbers of chicks, type and cost (whatever you agreed on) and send it to them registered mail. If they balk at signing for the mail, they are probably not serious about doing what they said. I would also give a copy to Animal control and the Sheriff's office to put in their case file.... It has been a tough time for you, Michael, and I hope and pray that you will start to be able to put this behind you and move forward with your dream.... Remember, God loves you and so do we (all your subscribers.)

I’d still take him to court. People’s word doesn’t mean much these days. And definitely follow up with the sheriff’s office.

Let's hope that the dog owner will be a man of his word. And own up and pay for the destruction his dogs has caused. If not God will take care of him when his time is up.

Dang Michael, we gonna have to get a posse together to watch your house for then critters while you’re away.
