Carol Kirkwood is worth watching but not at the price of a licence!

I was reminded by the BBC that my licence for the year was about to end. I have no intention of renewing it. I found much more entertainment through DVDs and KZbin. I daresay I will have those threatening letters from their heavy duty reps who try and scare us and pressurise us as did Virgin TV reps when it first came out and knocked on the doors. The only program I really liked was Dr Who until the director was interviewed , man was he full of it.............and that was it....finito...... as well as other comments which I cant mention here but most Dr Who fans will agree with me. Overall its just not worth paying for!!!!!!

May not be a good thing. If they come to your door and say you were watching live TV then they issue you a fine, you won't get your day in court. That fine is then put to a debt collection agency where it spirals and the next thing you know you have bailiffs kicking your door in. Just saying! I wouldn't trust them to self regulate and thats what it may be?????

My sister got taken to court & fined either £800/ or £1000 a few years ago & she didn't work at the time & haf 3 young kids BBC is the tv equivalent if Tripe😂 & must b abolished its Corrupt & has some very unpleasant people working their through the years (SAVILLE & EDWARDS) SICK PERVERTS that should of been locked up as the evidence was overwhelming but STARMER wouldn't prosecute saville at the time & he could have makes me think hes the same as them all these elites R in2 some pretty depraved activities when ul look in 2 it

When you are forced to pay for something you don't want, it is called extortion. We should be able to sue for a lifetime worth of extortion, threats and coercion. It should have always been a free choice to subscribe to or not to subscribe to the BBC. Of course Labour would decriminalise it since the BBC are a conservative supporting propaganda channel as are most broadcasting channels in Britain so the present governments move to decriminalise it is a move that is more selfish and for their own political benefit and self preservation rather than to help the poor public. Is it a silver lining for the licence payers though?

De-criminalising a broken system is no big shakes. If it's changed to civil recovery when people don't pay then it will be a field day for the bailiffs. One of the main reasons more women are prosecuted is they are the ones normally at home when the goons call, and said goons find them easier to intimidate into incriminating themselves into a conviction. Mostly young mums and elderly ladies are caught. As soon as the goon says they are from TV licensing, just say "No thanks" and shut the door. They are not 'Officers', they have no power of entry, they cannot 'Read you your rights' any more than the bin man can. They are door-to-door salesmen after their £25 commission.

Er - Why was it 'the right thing to do to ask the people running the business'? When victims are telling you that those very people are the ones causing the problem? My impression of Mr. Dunks was that he was a middle-ranking manager, long serving and unswerving loyal to him Company. When those above him, for self-evident reasons, sought to avoid giving witness statements, he was happy to step in and do so as it could be considered proof of his loyalty. I really wonder if he thought for a moment of the catastrophic effect the statements he made, usually, it seems, without bothering to check for veracity but simply stating whatever the Post Office demanded of him, had on the people whose lives he ruined.
