I always wonder how much teens in the 1950s and 1960s ran up their parents' phone bills. I know this happened more recently as well, but with not so much technology back then, teens could unknowingly run up huge phone bills and infuriate their parents, especially if they had their own phones and called their friends all night long frequently.

Ann married Roger in 67. Deans show was 65. Since Ann was devoted to Roger , I think this was to sell a book. MacLaine was more a rat pack girl. Ann was too busy organizing trips to Vietnam between movies and casino gigs. Elvis, yes, Bobby Darin , yes, Dean, no.

Was the guy in the car talking on a phone? Was that even a thing in that era
@RonGerstein3 ай бұрын
They had car phones in the 1940s, so it is possible, since this movie was in 1961.

This was the generation that firmly established the life stage of the "teenager". For the whole of human history there was only child and adult but now there was this between phase called teenagers and they had their own values and morals and had to be taken seriously now. SIGH.....
