When Trump said it's about drugs and illegals that was partly bs. Like he cares about drug users? I think the tariffs will be inflationary at first but if companies start moving to the US it might pay off? It could take a long time and people will suffer with more inflation. Some will win and some will lose like usual.

There will eventually be a stock market down turn. Before this happens the market melt up must burn itself out. I cannot wait for this to happen. This market crash is going to cleanse our country of some of the excesses and greed. It cannot come fast enough. Its going to be a reset for our country. There is going to be a lot of pain in our future. I am glad we have President Trump to guide us thru the coming hard times. The process has started. Lets get on with it.

I think its time for us to begin praying that the Trump administration can get to the bottom of all this fraud and corruption. Any Federal employee who is working a second job without permission is breaking the law. We must stop this corruption. We must stop the wars. No more Ukrainian corruption. When inflation started raging strong, people should have reduced their spending accordingly instead of just putting the difference on the card.

I have two years to retirement at 60yoa. Gonna pay off all my credit cards and have a house and two car payments totaling $2500 a month. will have my VA 4K, police pension 3.5k a month coming in until I recieve SS two years later roughly 2.5K a month. And thats not touching my or my wifes 401K or counting her SS. I'm hoping I'll be good to go with what I have.

I'm new to PMs, got into it kicking and screaming. For me the main thing is we have no debt, have a decent cash savings and investing a significant percent of our income into retirement 401Ks and a taxable brokerage. I personally don't consider it (PMs) an investment rather it for me is an alternate place to put savings to complement our HYSA. Having said that I'm excited to have our modest stack and for me I want to DCA silver and gold for the next 2 years on a regular basis. I haven't heard that Christians should not own gold. I don't understand that thinking.

The fiat banking cartel has for decades depreciated the currency by ap. 50% every 17 years so this insidious tax is in effect transferring all real wealth (land, water, minerals and infrastructure) into the hands of the top insiders. In 2020 Black Rock controlled companies got over two trillion in monetized debt which the rest of us have been paying for in higher prices as the money ”trickles down.” The newly enacted Trump tariffs (that will funnel money to his insider buddies) will also cost the average consumer an estimated 3,000 dollars in increased prices.

The recent inflation and higher interest rates aren’t the reason a retired person is in debt. Retirees in this situation planned poorly over their entire working years.

It's always amusing when people *demand* job security. 😆 Mark Carney says he will stop the carbon tax here and replace it with green incentives.

If years of high inflation ends it doesn't mean prices go back to what they were before and you are OK again. Prices may indeed plateau but - that still leaves you having to deal with those prices - and of course likely any pension you have never just kept up makin one unable to reduce that accumulated extra debt.

I hope this is the beginning of the collapse of the metals paper market we’ve been hearing was near for many years. Seems the LMBA is have trouble meeting the huge demand of standing for delivery orders! Gold headed for the US!

Let me get this straight. You are 67 years old and haven’t figured out how to live within your means. Did they think that SSN was going to cover their expenses in old age? I know waitresses, garbage men, taxi drivers and so on who live a very good life because they were slow and steady living within their means. They still lived a good life but wanted no stress upon retirement. They are old school Americans who learned from the “depression generation”. I’m 62 and very blessed as I have done many things, gone many places, and living a good life. The key is PAY YOURSELF FIRST…

I’m not sure where you are getting your numbers from. The average inflation for the last 40 years has been 2.73%. 1985 thru 2024. The core inflation 31 Jan 2025 stands at 2.8%. That is hardly runaway inflation. People living beyond their means is the reason they are in trouble.

Its always someone elses fault. Who incurred the debt? Medical debt I get....everything else people signed on the dotted line. Buck up and pay it. No one has to buy a 90K truck to drive to a cubicle job.

The middle class are heavily taxed, because there are more of them than wealthy. Where is the money going to come from? Printing money so inflation and/or a recession follows? Borrowing money to increase the national debt, interest on the debt and/or inflation or recession follows?

Tariffs on Feb 1 may be final nail in the economy collapse. Banks are in trouble and debt is at its max with no savings and inflation. World governments are in trouble. Tent cities. I think 1933 is coming soon
