Too late ... already have one I made several years ago. Pretty much the same design too. The cool thing about SawStop table saws is that they allow you to build stuff. lol

Scary stuff. My dad cut the tip of his middle finger off on my old table saw. That though has been in my head 25+ years. Now that I am getting back into woodworking, I just bought a 3hp PCS. Hopefully that is one less thing to worry about. I have a friend who has set off her Sawstop several times. I believe money extremely well spent.

just minutes...LMAO. The unlocking key may need some finessing. When mounting the new cartridge, note there are two pins to align (the pin above his index fineger is NOT visible as in the video). Be sure to get these aligned as it is an exacting fit.

I know this video is old but I'm learning of this for the first time and my jaw just dropped watching this. 30,000 serious injuries and 4,000 inadvertent amputations a year could be stopped using this. BRAVO SAWSTOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NICELY DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never had a fine adjustment table saw like this. I was able to dial this form 0.021" out to .001" in 5 minutes. This is way cool. I also checked this at 45 degrees and was off by 0.010". Close enough for me. I don't feel like adding shims for for this amount.

Good video. Denatured Alcohol can be absorbed through the skin, damaging the kidneys. Best practice: use nitril gloves or solvent resistant gloves when using denatured alcohol.

Placing the t-fence out of aliagnment and using the splitter to keep stock aligned is a bad idea. When doing a dado, rabbet, or single blade rabbet the out of alignment fence creates a problem.

I was using my saw last Saturday am. I was pushing a 4 ft board through, and just switched to using a push stick with my rt hand, and put my left hand on the far side of the blade to hold the board down, when the board kicked back and pulled my left hand back into the saw blade. It happened so quick. I always thought this kind of things only happens to other people not paying attention. My shop and table saw look like a scene from CSI crime scene. 😢 My index finger took the worst, and was cut half way through between the tip and joint, splintering the bone, the long finger was cut under the first knuckle and cut the tendons and meat to the bone, ring finger got off with a few blade nicks, and the pinkie finger got the tip cut off. Having to wait for the swelling to go down so I can get reconstructive surgery next week. But I feel I got off lucky…I still have all my fingers. DONT THINK THAT IT CANT HAPPEN TO YOU…BECAUSE IT CAN. Be careful out there.

Damn.. the scariest thing about saw machines is that most people use their bare hands to slide the wood through blades and their hand is just extremely close to touching the blade Man.. woodworking is just very risky for your hands
@funkypunkypine
@funkypunkypine 3 ай бұрын
You're definitely supposed to use your bare hands when operating most woodworking power tools. Wearing gloves greatly increases the likelihood of the machine gripping onto the fabric and pulling your flesh towards the blade. It seems counterintuitive to not wear gloves at first so plenty of newbies make that mistake. I certainly did when I first started woodworking 😂

For the Contractor's saw crowd - if you lift the carriage all the way up and tilt to 45, it's much easier to access the gunk on the screw from the back of the saw with a pick and/or compressed air to clear things out.

Ugh, just tripped my saw. Was setting up a new Miter sled, thought I had the extruded aluminum fence spaced far enough away form the saw blade. Went to cut my first piece of wood on the brand-new crosscut blade and BAM. Had to have just barely grazed the fence enough to set off the brake.

This is not accurate at all. It takes me upwards of an hour to remove the nut and blade and another hour to replace the blade and nut. The nut is VERY tight and requires a crescent wrench. And then to use both wrenches just …..🤬
