Oh yeah, I always hike with random metal-shop items just to do junky temporary repairs on my poles.

Something to consider, my cook system consists of a Vargo BOT 700 (138g), 100g gas canister (200g), and Primus Micron Piezo (96g) is 140g lighter, more compact, and capable of melting more water than a thermos. You can also achieve the same system for less money and less weight using a Toaks 750ml pot, BRS 3000 stove, and mini BIC lighter. There is the added boiling time and needing a sheltered area to consider, but I don’t think these are insurmountable for most people and might provided a welcome rest opportunity.

I saw an excellent climbing slide presentation at Colorado State presented by Mr. Frost and Mr. Chounard in the late 70s, when Mr. Chounard was still making climbing gear and not plastic clothing.

Wes is a solid instructor, you will learn more in a day with him than a year of climbing with buddies. Can't recommend him enough!

Me and my son used CMS in 2018 for a day of climbing in Eldorado Canyon. We had a outstanding day of climbing with Adam Fisher from CMS. I hope to be back soon. Thanks Adam!

What are your thoughts about testing your friction wraps prior to removing your safety for your descent (5:30)? I like the idea of double backing the sterling chain reactor to the harness - great!
