Great video Craig. Brought back a lot of memories from my short stay in PNG in the summer of 2005. I hope to get back there full time myself in the near future.

Interesting how the youtube image stabilization affects the edges of the video images. The scenes shot while walking are now very stable though.

That was really weird when those three sorted themselves out after all the others moved through. It was almost like being in a Dr Who episode. I have not idea what they were thinking...but I think the sight of the camera startled them and they froze.

It was fun setting up the scenes and shooting the photos. They were a great bunch of kids...very enthusiastic, and no idea what we were doing. They were very pleased to see the results.

My parents, Jim and Glady Dean, founded the SIL mission at Ukarumpa in '55 -'56. I loved this video! To me, it is like flying into my hometown. We went to a one room school in Aiyura, taught by Mrs. Ancie Schindler, wife of the then-manager, Aub, who was a decorated Australian war veteran. David Carne who wrote the comment below was a childhood friend, and his parents ran the "Ag. Station" at Aiyura for many years as well. For more vid from PNG, check out my channel. - Timothy Dean

@Imaginefree69 And as a missionary did you promote the breaking of families, outlawing of indigenous language, or force adoption of western clothing? Did you sexually abuse children or allow it to happen? Did you steal or promote unhealthy diet or habits? I know hundreds of missionaries working for a number of agencies. What you describe is not reflective of their practice, policy or Christian doctrine. I am skeptical of your claims in regard to modern evangelical missions.

Imaginefree69, sin was as rampant in this setting as anywhere else men are living. "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
