Eastern Shoshone here, my great grandfather lived there for awhile after running away from government school at Fort Washakie Wyoming around 1900. My great grandmother may have been from there, she was Paiute I believe, and after she passed he moved back to Wind River with his two daughters. I was told stories about Duck Valley, and I think it was there he experienced an earthquake in the 1930’s, I looked it up and one did occur, although rare for the area. Just been looking into places of my family history.

With the air suspension and the right tires you get more ground clearance than a jeep rubicon. Paired with center and rear diff locks it can keep up with the best of them

I'm also a member of our Shoshone-Paiute Tribes. I've lived off n on our Reservation, always returning back home. I love our ppl n the country here, it's beautiful. I especially love listening to Shoshone n Paiute songs, Keith often sings his songs n shares them with us all on FB, he has a beautiful voice. Last yr in June this coronavirus had finally spread amongst our ppl. Although it took a lil time for everyone to see how seriously dangerous this virus is, we all started taking it seriously, social distancing n keeping ourselves n families safe n protected. Fortunately, there hasn't been any deaths from the virus, those who become sick have been recovering safely. I pray for Creator n Grandfathers protection n healing for our ppl n all Indigenous ppl, all ppl worldwide. We've come to a time where we're all needing to go back to our ancestor's traditional spiritual ways of living, all Indigenous ppl. Those who're religious need to get back to their religions which was given by God, so that we can survive n live thru the difficult times that are coming. God bless all*

Before I would turn on, turn on a yellow led, then the blue led, and then the motors would start and normalize. I heard about corrupted firmware. Can you help me ?

I'm curious I own the exact same thing has 145000 miles runs perfect shifts fine but.....it has this weird vibration in the gas pedal at times that I can't seem to figure out was just wondering if yours with the same miles ever had this?? Its doesn't seem to effect anything but its just an odd feeling
@rebeccareilly78193 жыл бұрын
Mine is at 134k and it does that too or if I’m using cruise control and hit resume after being in traffic it’ll do it too. Did you ever figure out why?
@edwardmilewski43613 жыл бұрын
@@rebeccareilly7819 nope they continue to say it's a normal thing for those vehicles....people who have 2011and newer say thg they have it so bad it like having a electric razor under thir foot...yikes!!! I know this sounds weird buy I bought a thick scrub type sponge and right where throttle cable come out from middle of engine from the plastic cover I put it right under cable and it stopped it ....what your feeling is the throttle cable laying on top of the manifold and all the vibration from the motor because of it .I know it sounds crazy but I tried it cus I thought the there is no other explanation....and sure as shit it dampened the vibration

How much difference does the rear diff lock make? I only have a centre diff lock in mine with air suspension. And with videos I've seen, the auto lockers with the traction control seem to do a good job.
@bobbred1285 жыл бұрын
The traction control does a really good job. Better then most other cars I've driven. I think the rear locker makes a difference if your trying to do a slower crawl. The power is already 25/25 split in the back. No need to wait or get your RPMs up to make the traction control move power around. In the real world I think the rear locker makes a difference when things get super rough.

I’m surprised he said “AWD system” when it has a true 4wd system, but he was right to surmise that the Touraeg can go almost anywhere. Wish more people would put proper tires on machines like this to bring out their true potential. Great job though.

@@bobbred128 How has the maintenance been? Are you facing the super expensive repairs that people complain about?
@bobbred1285 жыл бұрын
@@thebeast9606 Yea, it's been kinda crazy. I've had the valve gaskets replaced twice. The AC compressor was out when I got it. It leaks a lot of oil, even after replacing the valve gaskets. The crank case breather valve broke and threw all kinds of errors. The crazy thing is with all that, I still love driving this thing.
@WW-wf8tu5 жыл бұрын
@@bobbred128 At least you are honest. A true enthusiast with honesty is rare. Nothing wrong with anyone having a passion for their vehicle. What happens too often are people that have rigs with noted problems, stick up for them stating they are not problematic. There is no argument that Jeeps, LRD's, Touareg's and the likes are not capable of off road adventures. But to say they do not have problems or expensive repair bills is to be a bold faced liar that cannot cover up the truth. lol So enjoy your vehicle and tell anyone that argues about the bills, that you don't them because it is fantastic. ;)
@bobbred1285 жыл бұрын
@Sonny Mercado. My Touareg does have an AWD system. I define that as 4WD that never turns off. I cannot put this rig into 2WD. There is a cool article about how my 1st Gen Treg's AWD systems works. It looks like it's about 38:62 power ratio under normal driving conditions. Maybe 50:50 depending on who you ask. 😀

Oh, and I have my angle limits set from 45 to -135. Looking up slightly from a low aspect to something higher is quite useful from time to time. At -135 you can look behind you without going backwards - allows you to keep your camera on an object longer. :)
