Hey Robotopsy! I can also just say, amazing sounds you made there! I just got a piston honda and was very happy to get inspired by your video. If you have some tipps or wanna share your patchnotes on this one, id be very glad! Keep going with these videos!! I rarely find stuff I like musically with modular videos, so its uniquw. All the best from Berlin

I lost most of my patch-notes when my hard-drive decided to die on me. But one of several technics I like to do, is to use multiple VCAs and splitting the audio channels to different audio lines and sequence them. Like the Piston honda mk3 got 3 separate outputs, send each of them to VCAs or Lowpass gates. Split some to a filter with multiple band outputs "like the Bionic mk1 or Intellijel Polaris. Use all the outputs through VCAs and Lowpass gates. Try sending some of those outputs back into the OSCillator source for some kind of self FM'ing, or feedback, or self hard Sync. I really like to use snappy envelope through VCAs and use random voltages to the decay input of those envelopes. I also like to use mixers. Mixers aren't just useful to mix audio for the final mix. Mix CV - LFOs -Envelopes. Mix audio signals through FX processing. Also each new module I get, I always scan the front panel for each knobs - jack inputs or outputs - sliders - encoders.... anything. Try to understand each parameters and see the potential of each. Hope it helped a bit even if it's not specific patch notes. If it's a Piston honda mk3 you got, you might want to check out my video on the preset management tips. There's some nice tricks with the preset features and functions that makes the IME mk3 so powerful and I hope I did a good job explaining how to use the manager.

can anyone explain what Stilson Hammer is doing in patch4, seems to be causing a warble, is that purely affecting the v/oct? or some other mod parameter?
@robotopsyrobotopsy6486
@robotopsyrobotopsy6486 3 ай бұрын
From what I remember. Gate probabilities of the Stillson hammer mk2 will trigger envelopes sent to some modulation of the HD mk1 and a small amount of Cross mod from the Double Andore mk2.

Amazing video. Any chance of explaining a bit more what's going on in Patch 39? So CV is going in the PH External input, then through the BL into either the CV or external input of HD??
@robotopsyrobotopsy6486
@robotopsyrobotopsy6486 4 ай бұрын
I'm sending a CV sequence from the SH mk2 and the clock out of the SH mk1. Both Clock and CVs are mixed with the Qotile, then sent to the external input of the PH mk3. Manualy, I morph through each presets of the PH mk3, with the preset trimmer. The CV processing is going to the channel A of the Bionic and the 2nd OSC of the PH mk3 is going to the channel B of the Bionic (and channel B of the BL mk3 goes to the Optomix). Using the Lapsus OS to add some elements to the patch, but does not affect the PH mk3. The trick is to process some CV with the PH mk3, and make some interesting presets. Then use any of the controls of the preset manager to travel between does presets.🤖

The input of channel A of the BL mk3 is multed to the input of channel B. I'm using to Legio to modulate the Hertz Donut mk1. So the bionic will act as a distributor. Having presets with different input amount will determine which output as more amplitude level. So the same signal can go to two different destination. In this case, it's the FM and the Sync Input of the HD mk1. I could have use two FX processing modules too. Like a bit crusher and a delay. I'm morphing through the presets of the bionic with the Miggs. I sent a voltage to the miggs otherwise this passive module does not send any voltages by itself. Each preset can have their own sets of filter modes. And when you use the Comb of the BL mk3 for FM'ing or Sync..... believe me crazy sound will come out of this @@james_44

I prefer using a standard Sinewave for my Kicks and maybe sometimes a bit of CV into one axis of the waveshape. I like the Intellijel's VCA for my percussions... they're so snappy !!! And sending an attenuate copy of the envelope to the Pitch. Preferable to use an envelope dedicated to the pitch to have separate control over the Amp & the Freq. And for an interesting dynamic variation of the kick, I'm using the trig for the kick to another Seqencer.... the uStep ( Intellijel ) So I try different pattern of triggers or divisions, but the idea is to have less of this second kick. I may duplicate the same path of Oscillator through a VCA... or using another Drum module. But most of the time, I'm sending an envelope straight to the mix or to the audio IN of a filter and adjust the cutoff and resonance to have something punchy ! Hope my explanations weren't too confusing ?

killer video robotopsy, thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. finally got one on the way in the garage sale. and that's one impressive drawing! re cv sequence scrubbing, the DLD can do it, but i think it needs a jumper change on the back and maybe a system setting change. but i haven't done it yet, but i can imagine the beautiful messes that can be achieved with looping and sequecning the time divisions (times two!!!).

I also got the DLD and barely used it for other than insane Glitches or standard classic looper. I'm revisiting each neglected modules in my cases and see the most I can get from each one of them. Scott is a hero ! Most other brands would have shown you the middle finger and move forward, but Scott is taking the time needed for its clients. You'll have lots of fun with a Tyme Sefari be sure of that. It's not an easy module. The hard part is to get the patch context for each possibilities.
