make sure you carrry a hammer and small nails with you. i wont sell mine i bought it at aestate sale 15 years ago, for 30 grand. family had no idea what it was worth. i bought it in wyoming. my interior is all leather custom built. like flying a sportscar. i shoudl takeyou up in mine i will roll it. loop it. and i only have one parachute in mine. lol just in case. the plane is easy to roll.but i also took aerobatci lessons back in the early 70's i also over 17000 hrs. around 2600 in the viking.

now wait aminute i own a 1979 superviking andmy stripper gf lovves the crushed velvet lol putting a pole in it tomorrow, i have been flying since 1968 and have owned 4 suer vikings over the years. i just had a/c installed and a new avidyne glass panel. they are one of hte best undervalued planes out there. but i also own a 1978 cessna p337 for flying around here in upstate washington and my trips to alaska.a wooden wing flexes in bumpy air. and the factory still builds them only 1 a year

Loved my old 67 Viking; wonderful airplane and it did all the aerobatics in the vid with ease and lots of fun; and I heard a rumor it once flew under that big bridge by San Francisco--

My mother worked on all of the interior of the Bellanca Super Viking. She sewed all the seats did all of the interior in crushed velvet and even had crushed velvet pillows. At one time they put one airplane out every 24 HRS from the Bellanca Aircraft Factory at Alexandria Minnesota where this particular plane was built.

Wow she did so well dealing with his lack of humility, his excuses, his rationalizations and ego! Less yapping more flying and learning, he just seems irritated he’s not even close to perfect. I would love to have her coaching me!

I’m looking at purchasing a super Viking but living in Arizona I’m concerned about the plane being parked outdoors? I’m told it should be hangared because of the wood wings. Obviously I’m having a hard time finding a hangar. Anyone have thoughts feedback on m concern?

Great video! Was this plane ever registered to an owner from Texas?
@curtcoltharp37194 ай бұрын
When you own a Super Viking, you will use it as a yardstick on any other plane that you fly. The only other plane that I would consider is the 235 Cherokee. The 235 isn’t as fast and glamorous but it will outperform a 182 for less money. I’ve been out of flying a while but went to get my BFR in a 172 and I had briefed my instructor on my past Bellanca ownership and he said “you will think this 172 is a kite with a motor on it”. He was exactly correct. If you ever fly a Bellanca, everything else will be a kite with a motor.

i am in my late 20s and really interested in aviation. Once I start making good money at my job, I’m going to start the process. Maybe some day I’ll be able to buy my own plane. I’ve been looking some Super Vikings online and it seems like they are great. Baby steps though!

Why would you gear up with so much runway left ?
@friznogg5 ай бұрын
The gear down creates drag. It has nothing to do with how much runway you have. It's harder to climb in a landing configuration. Gear up when you have a positive rate of climb.

Nice video guys... what year is your Bellanca Super viking? I am looking at a 1974 version with 2800 TT and 400 since overhaul. In mint shape... Just wondering what you would think it's worth? Trying to make a decision between the Bellanca and the D62... Hmmmm price was no object. Kidding.. But I flew a Bellanca back in the late 70s along with our old J-3 and a Cherokee 140. The Bellanca is faster, lighter and softer flying. Just give me a number you think I should pay for a low hours, great interior, all original nav w auto. Trying to get my wife to learn to fly.... I saw one other of your videos so far. You do a nice job. I'm sure the boys have learned to fly by now, eh? I started at 4-5 years old. Soloed at 12, when I took the plane without permission, the J-3. We had our own runway at the farm and dad was on a biz trip. Thought I'd get away with it. Instead I got a beating every day for two weeks. More to let me know I could have killed myself. Flew for over 30 years then life took over. Now at 68 I'm getting back to it. How much is a 74 BSV worth? Thanks !

Very nice Bellanca, the A is pronounced ah, like in father. Italian uses single vowel sounds for all vowels, a is always ah, just like in spanish and Portuguese.

The instruction from the back is ridiculously over complicated. Particularly with the basic aileron roll and rudder following. Just another example of "over teaching" to make sure you feel incompetent and have to struggle more to learn basic sh#t you would figure out with some practice and less bullsh#t from the back seat.

Hey man, you said this was your 1st plane after doing all your training in a Cessna172 can you touch on what it was like transitioning to such a different plane, was it a huge learning curve from one to another?
@wyflyguy114 Жыл бұрын
Not bad. I trained and received my HP endorsement in a 182 so not a huge difference. If you get your HP endorsement this is an easy 10 hour transition which is likely going to be required by your insurance anyhow. I received model/make specific training and had it down in a couple hours.
