Good review, my RM 5" just doesn't stay on anymore, I ordered a new cord on Amazon but I think it's time for another, it lasted since 2014 so RM did ok. I've never had a Garmin nor Tom Tom, but like you I like RM style. Right now don't know which to buy but definitely might go with RM again. Main thing to do on RM is turn off automatic reroute recalculate or you'll have problems everyone else is mentioning about being routed wrong.
