LuPone already had a somewhat bad reputation in the theatre long before she was cast in "Evita" and an unknown. Of course, she denied ANY diva behaviour in her book.

I remember when I saw her years after the movie. I never realized that was her real nose. I love her because she would never have rhinoplasty. She was a lovely person.

I really dislike that they essentially disposed of the book for the stage version for the movie

The very best birthday present I ever received was to see the live play, with TED NEELEY, and it would be the last time he toured. He’s one hot Jesus and ive thought so since was 6 or 7, my age when it came out. I had, and still do, have the lyrics memorized. When i turned 10, my parents said I could have a party or go see the live show that was coming. I picked the party and regretted it the rest of my life. So when my mom said she had tickets for my birthday (40 something) I nearly died. It was the best time. I still listen to the album, raised my son on it. And, I too, am a recovering catholic.

20:20 so, i grew up in qn area with alot of h*l*caust deniers. I distinctly remember my dad watching this with me and pointing this out to make sure i wasn't mislead. Active political parenting is essential.

Am I the only one who finds her attractive? I look at her features and there's so exaggerated and not in proportion, but they somehow work!

There's several ways you can play a witch, and then there's her way, and you can only imitate her, can't out-do her.

Margaret Hamilton was perfect for that part 🧙♀️

Wicked is like Lord of the Rings. Both have applicability. They can be applied to the current political/ social issues, during any decade. Maguire is brilliant. It's a great lesson in looking from another perspective & asking why.

The film Christopher And His Kind is an interesting companion piece to Cabert. Also the 11th Doctor stars so I fangirl on multiple levels.

Loved this conversation! So glad you talked about Singin in the Rain at the end. One of my favorites! My family growing up had more unusual favorites like Naughty Marietta. I think my mom unironically loved it but we kids thought it was what would be called cringe nowadays.
