Great video, Brian. This stretch of the River Hull was known as the old harbour. 50 years ago it would have been crammed with barges, many loading or discharging at the warehouses opposite, most of which are now converted into flats. The River Hull is navigable as far as Driffield. On the way is the town of Beverley where many Hull trawlers were built before being towed to Hull for fitting out. In 2017, 27 Morris teams arrived in Hull for the Morris Federaton AGM and some got the chance to dance on the bridge as it was moving. The bridge staff were very accomodating and it was a memorable experience and privilege. A man called Stewart ward videoed the "Buttercross Belles" dancing on the bridge and you can see his video at kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipvYaHqVl86qrZY

I didn't recognise this bridge because it was videod from teh East bankd of the river. The old buildings behind the barge are the museums and converted into apartments. It's nice to walk round on a sunny morning.

About someone got off their Rsez and made more of the waters in and around HUll and HUMBER. A twin dam near to Saltend with the ability to generate electricity and twin lock gates would see it self funding. You could have river traffic 24 hrs a day reduce sandbanks ,eliminate most dredging and create one of the largest fresh water recreation areas on the planet..I,m sure a team of Dutch engineers would gladly show our lot the way forward.

So... Are pedestrians allowed on the bridge while it's in motion? I saw two people (not bridge ops) on the bridge during the closing.

Some other floating bridges are moving the both sides. But this one moving only one side. So 75% of the weight of the bridge is carrying one pivot motor. Very nice different technology. May i know which country this is located.?
