He lived about a mile or so from me and was 6 months younger than me, we could have crossed paths growing up as kids, when I heard he died in car crash I was gutted, felt like I'd lost a friend

I remember when I was a teenager in 1981 my mom and her friends went to see the Statler Brothers. She was leaning against the edge of the stage and Harold Reid, the bass singer, walked right up to her, got down on his knees and sang directly to her for like 30 seconds, then leaned over and kissed her on the cheek, stood back up, and rejoined the group. My mom was all giddy about it for like a week. 😂 She had to tell it to everyone she saw. She would say "Good Lord he was so handsome and sexy and smelled so good!"😂😂 My mom had not had a good marriage to my dad. He was an alcoholic and, although he never physically abused her, he emotionally abused her, cheated on her, and generally treated her like shit. They had recently divorced. She lived many years with him and was not a happy woman at all. It made me happy to finally see her in a good mood, laughing and giggling like a teenager. Harold made that happen. He was a real class act and a true gentleman. 👍♥️✌️

That is a good story. I'm a Statler Brothers Fan since the 1970's. I saw them in concert 3 times. Best country vocal group ever in my opinion. Hope you are doing well in this 2024 crazy world.

@@claylyons6447 Lucky you. I never got to see them. You're right, they are the best country group ever, although I love the Oak Ridge Boys a lot, too. You probably already know this, but The Statlers Flowers on the Wall actually beat out The Beatles for a Grammy award in 1966!
@claylyons64473 ай бұрын
@@iluvdaguitar yes! And the Beatles were already icons. Statlers were just starting. They toured with Johnny Cash until 1972.

I'm using this to see which is better: Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO or Audio-Technica M50XBT2. Well, they are different. DT770 is softer and more balanced. M50X is more shifted to trebble. Highs are too dominant. Beyerdynamics still wins for me. Wish DT770 had a bluetooth version.
