Replaced the cutter heads in both my planer and jointer with helical cutters. Could not be more pleased! Quieter, better results... what's not to like?

My cabinets have laminate covers, should I remove the laminate and then prep and paint or prim and pain on the laminate.

Although this guy is well intentioned, this is def not the right way to paint cabinets, unless your cabinets are junk and you own rental property. Almost everything he did was wrong. There’s a reason why a pro cost $3500 or more. I have been painting cabinets since 2003. Trust me. There’s much more to it than this video. First, fill the oak grain with proper filler, then sand with an electric palm sander to create tooth to obtain a strong paint adhesion. Use a proper primer meant for cabinets and stain blocking. Never paint over anything without a good substrate or bonding primer. Don’t use cleaning products as some might have silicone contaminate that cause fish eyes, or degreasers that leave a slime residue that undermines the paint adhesion. Instead, use denatured alcohol to clean your cabinets for painting. Invest in a decent fine finish HVLP turbine paint sprayer to get a professional finish instead of using a $5 roller. Never paint a cabinet with a brush and roller, but if you do, do it the opposite way this guys says. It’s called “roll and tip” technique. Google it. You will find the details. Roll the cabinets with a mohair blend roller, then brush it out to smooth the paint, using a smooth cabinet brush. I like the Zebra cabinet brushes you can buy from HD. Also, buy the best cabinet refinish paint- using 2k paints with hardeners…. These tips are just the basics. If you want your paint to fail just by looking at it or wiping ketchup off your drawers, do this guys technique. If you want a smooth finish that will last for years, hire a pro. If you have a $20,000 -$50,000 kitchen, replacing it would cost you $50,000 -$90,000 or more. (New Granite, appliances, new cabinets, labor, permits, electrical) Just spend the $3,500 and hire a pro. You’ll still be saving yourself $50k for a new look.

mobile is a great idea. My prob with the wood shelves I had was lack of flexibility on storing things one high--a lot of room wasted or you have to stack things. Would love to see Ideas on adjustable shelf height wood shelves ---that and mobile and I'm set! Purchased a few metal shelves to have the adjustment option as my storage needs change but they are not as strongly built as I would like and they are expensive but on them I can stack one high and adjust the height to fit the items just right.. I like wood shelves though and have spare wood around. I thought maybe 2 2x4's and slide some plywood in and out at different heights maybe dropin bolts to hold plywood from sliding out when removing things. But Im no woodworker so I look for ideas :)

I just finished my own painting of my kitchen. I received the Sage sample from Heirloom, and it did not look the same as your cabinets. It was a Tannish color. I mixed mine from Bone, Crete & Envy. Your kitchen looks great! I'm thrilled with mine also.

I have a bookshop and I'd like to put casters on several (9) bookshelves but wonder if they will be unsteady. Is there a way to anchor them to keep them from tipping? They'll be free-standing and not against a wall. Thank you for any advice!

Going to steal the "fake dado" idea. Will be removing cabinets and making shelves to hold totes and larger items, but they will be staring at likely 4 foot so I can store my wood working things under them (table saw, planer, router table) and making another cart likely for things. Just need to clean things up and get organized!

So when you went back over with the roller to smooth it out did you dip it in paint first or just did it with a dry roller?

Love the video and 'pace of work' to digest all this. One error in your drawing is when you made the slats for the tall side, you probably should have used the offset instead of making it width of full because the angle skewed the true width. Still love the video but that discrepancy initiated an error in width of those slats (albeit at 3 deg so very small discrepancy).
