You need to create regular documentation of what's going on on the ground yourselves. "Don't think that the rest of the country has forgotten or doesn't care", "far from it". You need to consider taking advantage of technology and report your own news, even if it's once a month do an update, why give them all the control? and allow them to tell your story, they will always misrepresent, it's in their media interest to do so. Why was nobody demonstrating against the bombing of Libya by NATO? There is where the misery for libya started.
