Thank heavens pulsars are very far from us. The closest one is located in the Aquarius constellation. According to current research data, it is about 424 light-years away. If it were near us, it would be very dangerous, as it could easily wipe out life on Earth.

Thank you for your comment! Pulsars are indeed fascinating and can be incredibly dangerous if they were close to Earth. The closest known pulsar is about 424 light-years away as you mentioned. This distance is relatively safe for us, as the harmful effects of a pulsar diminish significantly with distance. - They emit intense beams of radiation, primarily in the form of radio waves, X-rays, and gamma rays. If a pulsar were very close to Earth and its beams were directed towards us, the radiation could strip away our atmosphere, causing catastrophic damage to life. Fortunately, the closest known pulsars are not oriented in such a way that their beams pose a direct threat to Earth. Thanks again for your comment. Stay curious and keep exploring the wonders of the cosmos!

It's nice that scientists monitor these threats, but let's say there is an asteroid coming towards Earth that is the size of the one that wiped out the dinosaurs. What could we really do about that?
@MindFull-101
@MindFull-101 11 күн бұрын
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! The possibility of an asteroid impact is indeed one of the most well-known cosmic threats, and it’s something that scientists take very seriously. The goal is to detect potentially hazardous asteroids well in advance. With enough lead time, even an asteroid as large as the one that caused the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction (about 10 kilometers in diameter) can be tracked and potentially mitigated. Current technology allows us to detect large NEOs years or even decades before a possible impact. While we are not yet able to completely eliminate the risk of an asteroid impact, significant progress has been made in detection and deflection technologies. The key is continuous monitoring and international cooperation to ensure that we can respond effectively if such a threat arises. Thanks again for your comment! It’s questions like these that highlight the importance of ongoing scientific research and preparedness. :)

Apophis is a large asteroid discovered in 2004, with a diameter of approximately 370 meters. Initially, it raised concerns because early calculations indicated that it would come close to Earth in 2029 and 2036. However, the latest data shows that Apophis will safely pass by Earth in 2029 at a distance of about 31,000 km, which is relatively close in astronomical terms but poses no impact threat. Scientists continue to monitor it closely. “Since the devil never sleeps” What do you think about it?!

I'd wager that we are the mind instead of living in someone else's mind. I was a material reductionist for a number of years but after more study I'm thinking that somehow "consciousness" is fundamental and not matter. The feeling of "I exist" is the most "real" phenomenon. It's the only aspect to existing that cannot be faked. You could be a brain in a jar, this could all be a simulation, but you can't simulate the "I am,x part. This could all be a dream but you have to be aware to experience the dream

What's your thoughts on electric universe theory??
@MindFull-101
@MindFull-101 20 күн бұрын
I think this theory presents its own set of advantages and drawbacks. On one hand, it offers a fresh perspective diverging from mainstream cosmology, thereby stimulating scientific discourse and exploration. One of its merits lies in its simplicity, as it underscores the significance of electromagnetic forces in shaping cosmic phenomena. Moreover, proponents argue that it provides a unified framework to explain various observed phenomena in space, from galaxy formation to planetary systems. While these are fascinating ideas but theye have lack of mainstream acceptance. Critics contend that it lacks substantial empirical evidence to substantiate its claims. Some think it puts too much emphasis on electricity, ignoring other important factors In summary, while the Electric Universe theory introduces a captivating alternative viewpoint on cosmic dynamics, it faces significant challenges in garnering mainstream recognition, empirical support, and scientific scrutiny. As with any scientific theory, ongoing research and scrutiny are necessary to determine its validity and potential contributions to our understanding of the cosmos.

Or, perhaps the simplest solution is the best. It IS by intelligent design, we DO have a pourpose. Extra dimensions do exist, and contact has been made. Many of the millions of eyewitness testimonies of miracles and the paranormal aren't lies or fabrications and it's time to pay attention to removing the extreme, completely unfounded, bias in the scientific communtity that all study must proceed from and towards the totally unproven "knowledge" that there is no God. It's amazing how many weird complicated, disagreeing, theories that are completely unproveable there are out there to confound us and replace the common sense things we see and discredit eyewitness and evidence to anything other than atheism. It all comes down to not wanting to be held accountable for our actions. In doing so we also remove any reward for them either. And now we are asked to believe that we are purely temporal flash in a pan floating "consciences" that live in a godless universe of no value made real purely by our randomly created mind's hallucinations. How sad! Let's just wait and see. From my scientific research and personal relationship with Him I choose Jesus. You may choose as you wish.
@MindFull-101
@MindFull-101 21 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing your perspective. It's clear you've put a lot of thought into these matters. While scientific inquiry often leans towards naturalistic explanations, it's essential to remain open-minded and consider various viewpoints. Your belief in intelligent design and a purposeful universe is deeply held and valid. Many people find comfort and meaning in such beliefs, and your personal connection with Jesus is a testament to that. In the pursuit of understanding the universe, it's crucial to integrate both empirical evidence and personal experiences. Science aims to explore the unknown, but it doesn't dismiss personal beliefs or experiences outright (rather, it seeks to understand them within a broader context). Ultimately, the search for truth is a personal journey, and everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and interpretations. Thank you for contributing to the conversation with your perspective. ☺
