In 1984, I bought a Wisconsin State Patrol Lieutenant Police Interceptor Gran Fury. It was a huge 1977 model, 440 Interceptor engine, cop rubber, cop wheels, cop trans, suspension, exhaust, cooling, brakes, electrics, sway bar, differential...all heavy duty, it was slate grey with a tan interior, and it had dual chrome teardrop spotlights. I was able to deliver this magnificent squad from the WSP fleet to me, for the princely sum of $825.00!!! I haven't sufficient vocabulary to begin to explain how much this car meant to me. I was 20 years old, and had already owned 2 1970 Plymouth Roadrunners, and a 69 Plymouth Sport Satellite 383 4 speed... I'll never forget the ride home from Madison Wisconsin to Milwaukee Wisconsin... What an awesome freeway Machine this beautiful car was... All that Giant MoPar Iron for $825.00!!! There were half dozen of theses squads and muscle cars in every Sunday paper back then, and in 86, I traded the Interceptor for a 1973 Kawasaki H2 750 two stroke triple, just about the fastest motorcycle around back then... I no longer own the bike or the Plymouth Interceptor, and all of a sudden I'm 60 and not in good health. One thing they can't take... Is the memories. Mine forever, I'm taking them with me!
